Synopsis

In 1848, a rancher, Miguel Delmonte (Rick Jason) tries to protect his Princessa Spanish land grant, after his father was killed, from American landgrabbers. Real estate agent Rufus Bynum (Steve Brodie, hires a Texas gunfighter Jack McCracken (Brian Keith) to kill the man. The gunfighter ends up falling in love with the rancher's sister Felicia (Rita Gam).

Mitch Barrett (Alan Ladd) is a former Confederate soldier emigrating to the West whose wife Ellie (Rachel Stephens) dies in childbirth in a small cattle town in Arizona because of what Mitch sees as the heartlessness of three local men - George Caldwell the hotel keeper (Henry Norell ), Sam Giller the general store owner (John Alexander) and Ole Olsen the sheriff (Karl Swenson). Sandy Ricks (Luke Halpin) is a young boy living in the Florida Keys who rescues and befriends a dolphin injured by a harpoon. His father, fisherman Porter Ricks (Chuck Connors) is upset as dolphins compete for fish which jeopardizes the family income. He is also upset that, after befriending the dolphin, Sandy neglects his chores especially those assigned by his Dad repairing various items damaged by a dangerous hurricane, from which Sandy and Porter escape at the beginning of the movie.
