Stealing Home is a 1988 American romantic drama movie, starring Mark Harmon and Jodie Foster with Jonathan Silverman, Harold Ramis and William McNamara in major roles. The film was directed by Steven Kampmann and William Porter.

Synopsis

Billy Wyatt (Harmon) was once a very talented high school baseball player and minor-league prospect. Now in his 30s, doing poorly financially and socially, he receives a telephone call from his mother revealing that Katie Chandler (Foster), his former child-sitter—and later, in his teens, his first love—has committed suicide. She has left a note specifying Billy as custodian of her ashes.

Ben Wrightman, a 7-year-old boy, is going to a Red Sox game with his Uncle Carl. His uncle, who had not children of his own, treated Ben like a son. Ben inherited his uncle's season tickets when Carl died. The story picks up 23 years later with Ben (Jimmy Fallon) as a school teacher who is immature for his age. He meets Lindsey Meeks (Drew Barrymore), a professionally successful workaholic executive. When Ben first asks her out, Lindsey rejects him, but she later changes her mind and agrees to go out with him.
