Synopsis
Nic, adolescent, et son petit frère Agostino passent une dizaine de jours de vacances dans un terrain de camping en Maremme avec leur père. Leur mère, vivant des relations difficiles avec le père qui est violent, les rejoint. Nic rencontre Marie et sa jeune sœur Patty, les premiers contacts sont difficiles, une bagarre éclate entre Nic et Lee, le fils de l'épicier du camping, mais intrigué et séduit par Marie, Nic présente ses excuses et entre dans la petite bande. Marie est perturbée, à la recherche de son père à propos duquel sa mère cache un secret.Actors

Jackie and Luke Harrison (Susan Sarandon and Ed Harris) are a divorced New York couple that are struggling to help their children Anna (Jena Malone) and Ben (Liam Aiken) be happy with this sudden change of lifestyle. This is far from easy, as Luke, an attorney, is living with his new girlfriend, Isabel Kelly (Julia Roberts), an NYU alumna and a successful fashion photographer several years his junior. Isabel tries very hard to make Anna and Ben feel comfortable and happy with her, but Anna repeatedly rejects her overtures while Ben, who loves Isabel (not as much as his actual mother), adds extra complication with his mischievous nature. Isabel behaves with contempt tempered by caution around Jackie, believing she overcompensates for her divorce by spoiling her children.

The story begins on a fine summer's morning, when Sang-woo (Yoo Seung-ho) and his mother board a bus to the country. It is soon clear that the unsophisticated rural passengers annoy the seven-year-old urban boy. His mother is taking him to live with his 75-year-old mute, but not deaf, grandmother (Kim Eul-boon) while she looks for a new job after a business venture failed in Seoul. The film starts out with 13-year-old Valerie (Schallerová) sleeping in a gazebo. A thief comes in the night and steals her earrings; when she goes to investigate, she sees a horrific man before he covers his face with a weasel mask. Adapté du livre autobiographique d’Azouz Begag, ce film raconte l’enfance d'Omar (nom donné à Azouz dans le film) dans un bidonville de la banlieue lyonnaise de 1963. Le mot « gone » est un mot du patois lyonnais désignant les enfants. Le Chaâba (ou bidonville) est un ensemble d’habitations précaire sans hygiène et misérable, mais où il règne tout de même l’entraide, la fraternité et la solidarité.
