The story was adapted by James A. DeVinney from a play by John Wheatcroft. The original play, entitled Ofoeti, was telecast in 1966, on NET Playhouse, winning a National Television Award that year for best original television play.
Synopsis
12-year-old Paul would like nothing more than for the magical trolls and mermaids he reads about in his favorite story to be real. He goes searching for a real troll and finally meets one named Ofoeti, who has friends like Kalotte, a mermaid, and Socrates, a talking turtle. Soon the mermaid's home is threatened by an evil bridge builder. Paul also discovers that Ofoeti is dying and has less than a day to live. Paul must see if he has what it takes to risk everything and save his new friends.Actors

A criminologist narrates the tale of the newly engaged couple Brad Majors and Janet Weiss who find themselves lost and with a flat tire on a cold and rainy late November evening. In Verona, Italy, live two rival families, the Montagues and the Capulets. Constant clashes took Prince Sunny to ban fights and duels between them, with the promise to punish those who violate the peace. Angel Benvolio is invited to a masquerade ball at the house of Capulet - Romeu Montague Jimmy Five decides to go there in disguise. There, Romeo fights with Chuck Billy Tybalt, Juliet's cousin, and is expelled from the city. Desperate, Juliet asks the Friar to come up with a foolproof plan - and he decides to read Romeo and Juliet. But as the book ends with the two protagonists dead, Juliet Monicapulet does not like this ending and goes behind the Prince Sunny, that decides to forgive Romeo.

Set in Germany sometime in the late 18th century where Mytyl (Shirley Temple), the bratty daughter of a woodcutter (Russell Hicks), finds a unique bird in the Royal Forest and selfishly refuses to give it to her sick friend. The children have a number of adventures, visiting the past and their dead grandparents who come to life because they are being remembered, a scary adventure in the forest, the life of luxury, and the future, a land of yet-to-be born children. The dream journey makes Mytyl awake as a kinder and gentler girl who has learned to appreciate all the comforts and joys of her home and family. In the morning, the Father receives word that a truce has been called and he does not have to go to war.
