Add to a movie listThe Corsican Brothers is a 1941 swashbuckler film starring Douglas Fairbanks, Jr. in a dual role as the title Siamese twins, separated at birth and raised in completely different circumstances. Both thirst for revenge against the man who killed their parents (played by Akim Tamiroff), both fall in love with the same woman (portrayed by Ruth Warrick). The story is based on the novella Les frères Corses (in English: The Corsican Brothers) by French writer Alexandre Dumas, père.
Dimitri Tiomkin was nominated for an Academy Award for Original Music Score (Score of a Dramatic or Comedy Picture).
Synopsis
In Corsica, the entire Franchi clan gather in anticipation of the birth of the child of Count and Countess Franchi (Henry Wilcoxon, Gloria Holden). Dr. Enrico Paoli (H. B. Warner) informs the count that his wife has given birth to Siamese twins. Count Franchi insists he try to separate them surgically, even after Paoli tells him that it would be a miracle if the babies survived. Before he can begin, however, the Franchis' bitter rivals the Colonnas launch a surprise attack, led by Baron Colonna (Akim Tamiroff). All of the Franchis are killed except the babies, who are carried to safety by Paoli and faithful family retainer Lorenzo (J. Carrol Naish).Actors

The film begins with a tough Greek Lieutenant (J. Carrol Naish) announcing that the United States Marine Corps is seeking volunteers for a hazardous mission and special unit. Sergeant "Transport" Anderof (Sam Levene) meets the commander of the unit, Lieutenant Colonel Thorwald (Randolph Scott) who he has served with in the China Marines. Thorwald explains that he left the Corps to serve with the Chinese guerrillas fighting the Japanese during the Second Sino-Japanese War to learn their methods and has decided to form a unit using the qualities of Gung Ho or "work together".

While flying a routine mission for the U.S. Navy from his aircraft carrier, an emergency causes Lieutenant Robin "Rob" Crusoe (Van Dyke) to eject from his F-8 Crusader into the ocean. Prêts à quitter l’île sur un radeau de fortune, ils sont attaqués et capturés par les cruels adorateurs du dieu Crocodile dirigés par un prêtre dément nommé Kuasa. Tous les blancs sont devenus ses ennemis mortels depuis qu’une Anglaise a rejeté une fois son amour, il s’est vengé d'elle en kidnappant sa fille Toura qu’il a installée dans l’île. Voyant que Toura veut partir, Kuasa veut la sacrifier avec ses nouveaux amis au dieu crocodile quand le volcan se met en éruption et détruit Kuasa et ses hommes. Bob, Jimmy et Toura rencontrent sur la plage des sauveteurs dans lesquels se trouve Eleanor la fiancée de Bob. Bob épris de Toura doit maintenant choisir entre elle et sa fiancée.
