The Enchanted Boy (Russian: Заколдованный мальчик, Zakoldovanyy malchik) is a 1955 Soviet/Russian traditionally animated feature film directed by Vladimir Polkovnikov and Aleksandra Snezhko-Blotskaya. The film is an adaptation of The Wonderful Adventures of Nils by Selma Lagerlöf. It was produced at the Soyuzmultfilm studio in Moscow.
The film's image and sound were recently restored by the Russian company Krupnyy Plan, which released it on video and DVD packaged together with Cipollino, a 1961, 40-minute feature film directed by Boris Dyozhkin. No English-subtitled version has been released.
Synopsis
The naughty boy Nils, who delights in torturing animals, is bewitched by a tomte. Now shrunken to a small size and able to talk to animals, he flies across Lapland on the backs of wild geese. During these dangerous travels he does many noble deeds, and, at the same time, searches for the tomte who would take the spell away.Actors

An old man has three sons: the elder two are considered fairly smart, while the youngest, Ivan, is considered an idiot. One day the father sends the three to find out who's been taking the hay in their fields at night. The elder brothers decide to lie hidden in a haystack, where they promptly fall asleep. Ivan, meanwhile, sits beside a birch tree and plays on his recorder. Suddenly, he sees a magnificent horse come flying out of the sky. Ivan grabs her mane and holds on as the horse tries to shake him off. Finally, the horse begs him to let her go and in return gives him two beautiful black male horses and a little humpbacked horse (Konyok-gorbunok) to be his companion.

Hans Christian Andersen's story is simplified in this animated feature, which begins with an animated copy of his fairy tales, introduced by a little man, who says he is "old Dreamy" ("Ole Lukøje"). Avec son charme insolent et terre-à-terre qui séduit à la fois les enfants et les adultes, la série - qui commence avec "Vinnie-Pukh (1969)" - a depuis développé une sorte de culte et est considérée par beaucoup comme surpassant de manière décisive ses homologues de Disney, même si elle s'intègre difficilement dans le canon officiel.
