The picture was based on the novel The Informer by Liam O'Flaherty which was more famously adapted by director John Ford in the 1935 film The Informer. In the film, a man betrays his best friend, a member of a terrorist organisation, to the authorities and is then pursued by the other members of the organisation.
Synopsis
Durant la guerre d'indépendance irlandaise (1922), un détachement de l'Armée républicaine irlandaise (« Le parti » dans le film) est attaqué par une milice d'opposants. Echange de coups de feu, au cours duquel Francis McPhillip tue par mégarde le chef de la police britannique. Callaghan, le chef du détachement, lui ordonne de se cacher aussitôt dans les collines, puis de fuir en Amérique grâce à l'argent qu'il lui remet. Mais Francis commet l'erreur de vouloir faire d'abord ses adieux à son amie Katie, autour de laquelle tourne Gypso Nolan, un proscrit de l'IRA...Actors

Richard and Karl are German prisoners of war in Siberia. Since escape is almost impossible, they are unguarded and live an almost idyllic existence running a ferry. Richard misses his wife Anna greatly; he literally counts the days since he's seen her and tells Karl about her and their home in detail. When he decides to escape, Karl comes with him. While crossing a desert Richard collapses. He asks Karl to go on without him, but Karl refuses to leave his friend and carries him. But when Karl leaves to get water, Richard is recaptured and sent to work in a lead mine.

The Vatican summons symbologist Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks) from Harvard University and Vittoria from CERN to help them save the four preferiti and locate the vial.

Roger Ferris (Leonardo DiCaprio) is a CIA case officer in Iraq, tracking a terrorist called Al-Saleem (Alon Abutbul). He meets Nizar, a member of the terrorist organization who is prepared to offer information in return for asylum in America. Despite his boss Ed Hoffman's (Russell Crowe) objections, Ferris agrees to shelter Nizar. Nizar is used as a pawn to draw out the rest of his cell; when he is captured, Ferris is forced to shoot him to prevent him from exposing Ferris' identity. Furious at Hoffman's refusal to act on the information Nizar provided, Ferris and his associate Bassam (Oscar Isaac) go to search a safehouse in Balad, Iraq, of which Nizar had told them. There, Ferris observes men burning records and attempts to bluff his way in, but is exposed. In the ensuing shootout and chase, Ferris and Bassam's vehicle is hit by an RPG. Ferris and some salvaged discs are rescued by helicopter but Bassam is killed in the explosion.
