The Inglorious Bastards (Italian: Quel maledetto treno blindato, literally: "That damned armored train") is a 1978 Italian action/war film directed by Enzo G. Castellari, written by Sandro Continenza, Sergio Grieco, Franco Marotta, Romano Migliorini, and Laura Toscano, and starring Bo Svenson, Peter Hooten, Fred Williamson, Michael Pergolani, and Jackie Basehart. The film score was written by Francesco De Masi.
The film attracted critics' attention again after the release of Quentin Tarantino's 2009 film Inglourious Basterds due to the similarity of the two films' titles. However, Tarantino's film is not a remake of The Inglorious Bastards and contains only a few references to it.
Synopsis
The plot is set in 1944 in France. American soldiers Berle, a deserter; Nick Colasanti, a petty thief; Fred, nicknamed "Assassin"; Tony, a mutineer; and Lieutenant Yeager (arrested for refusing to execute orders to kill, among others, women and children) are sentenced to death for their crimes and are shipped to a prisoners' camp near the Ardennes.Actors

During the Dunkirk evacuation in 1940, a team of German saboteurs assume the identities of dead British soldiers and are transported to England. Their first objective is to cripple British air defences by destroying radar stations. The film opens with Major Wright fighting alongside Italian partisans in a town near Turin. While the partisans battle the occupying German soldiers in the streets, Major Wright enters a bordello in search of Benito Mussolini. However, after shooting up a closet only to find a dead German officer, Wright is informed by one of the women that 'Il Duce' had already left town. In the year 2019, a gang of bandits called the "United Regime" invade the town of New Hope. They are led by General Quantrill (Brion James), a descendent of Confederate cavalry officer William Quantrill. A mysterious motorcycle riding gunslinger named Yuma (Joe Lara) arrives in town and joins the gang, but actually plays the thugs against each other, causing the drunken riders to shoot each other. The next morning Yuma's girlfriend Sarah kills two other gangmembers, but the Regime believes Yuma is responsible. Yuma tracks down his accusers and shoots six.
