La leggenda di Kaspar Hauser (English: The Legend of Kaspar Hauser) is a surreal drama based on "the legend" of Kaspar Hauser.

In this modern western-like re-interpretation featuring Vincent Gallo, a music-obsessive Kaspar washes up on a Mediterranean beach, where half a dozen protagonists try to make sense of who he is.

The film was first presented at the Rotterdam International Film Festival 2012.

Synopsis

Une île rocailleuse baignée de soleil, époque indéfinie, un ailleurs. Un corps s'échoue sur la plage. C'est celui de Kaspar Hauser, le prince héritier mystérieusement volatilisé à l'enfance. Ce corps réanimé qui refait surface semble avoir perdu l'esprit. Son apparition trouble la routine insulaire. Qui est Kaspar Hauser ? Un souverain, un idiot, un imposteur ? Inquiète, la Grande Duchesse de l'île appelle à la rescousse son amant, Pusher, dealer et tueur à gage. Inconscient de la menace qui pèse sur lui, l'étrange garçon apprend la vie auprès du Shérif...un ancien DJ qui voit en lui le nouveau Messie.

Crystal "White Girl" Van Meter is a 15-year-old prostitute who is sentenced to 25 years for a long list of crimes which include beating up and robbing johns. Transferred to a minimum security hospital to seek treatment for bulimia, White Girl teams up with Angela "Cyclona" Garcia, a teenage serial killer. Together, they escape from the hospital, despite White Girl injuring herself on a barbed-wire fence. Cyclona is convinced her beloved Sister Gomez can help "White Girl" with her eating disorder and they head to Tijuana. On the way, Cyclona murders a family and has sex with the dead bodies. "White Girl" is not happy that Cyclona has stopped taking her meds and insists she continue to take occasional doses should they continue together. They steal the family's car and make their way south. On the way, Cyclona reveals how Sister Gomez saved her from being molested by her father and possibly aliens. After drinking one too many beers and huffing some paint, they crash and fall down a hill laughing.

Leo and Paul arrive at Elaine and Grace's house to encourage Axel to come back, but Elaine threatens them with a shotgun. Axel and Elaine complete the machine and test it, but it crashes in a tree.
