The Man I Love (French: L'Homme que j'aime) is a 1997 French gay romance television film directed by Stéphane Giusti.

Synopsis

Lucas est maître-nageur dans une piscine où un nouveau gardien, Martin, vient d'être engagé. Martin tombe amoureux de Lucas, qui est en couple avec Lise. L'attirance de Martin va bientôt être partagée par Lucas, qui hésite entre l'amour vrai et la compassion qu'il éprouve pour Martin, séropositif, subissant les conséquences de la maladie. Le fait que le père de Lucas, professeur de médecine, suive la maladie de Martin, n'aide pas grand-chose. Finalement, c'est bien l'amour que porte Lucas à Martin qui apaisera la fin de vie de ce dernier, entouré de l'homme qu'il aime et de Rose, sa mère.

David gets hired and quickly becomes close with the couple although they don't know of his standing in the art community and are surprised to learn that he's gay. David's friend Kryla (Lynda Boyd), a columnist for the Winnipeg Tribune, tracks David down at the diner against his wishes. An annoyed David demands that she write up the diner in her column, which she does. The diner's business picks up considerably.
