Synopsis
Après la tragique disparition de sa fille, Mack Philipps, père de trois enfants, est rongé par la tristesse et la culpabilité, niant l'existence de Dieu. Un jour, il reçoit une mystérieuse invitation le conviant à un week-end sur les lieux du crime, une cabane abandonnée où sa fille a été retrouvée assassinée. Intrigué, il s’y rend et rencontre trois personnages. De reproches en échanges, il va découvrir qui sont vraiment Dieu, Jésus et le Saint-Esprit. Cette rencontre va non seulement lui permettre de guérir sa souffrance, mais également le réconcilier avec lui-même et avec Dieu.Actors

The film Parable is presented through action and music alone and has no dialogue. It tells the story of handful of people working in an old fashioned circus under the rule of Magnus, a puppeteer who strings up human beings as living marionettes and controls their every move. Christ (Clarence Mitchell) is represented as a clown dressed in white, riding atop a donkey. The clown travels around the circus helping people with their problems and gaining followers until he finally takes the place of Magnus's human puppets and is strung up and murdered. Transformed by the clown's sacrifice, Magnus smears his face with white greasepaint and takes the clown's place on the donkey as Christ resurrected.

We see Mary Magdalene, here portrayed as a wild courtesan, entertain many men around her. Upon learning that Judas is with a carpenter she rides out on her chariot drawn by zebras to get him back. Peter is introduced as the Giant apostle, and we see the future gospel writer Mark as a child who is healed by Jesus. Mary, the mother of Jesus, is shown as a beautiful and saintly woman who is a mother to all her son's followers. Our first sight of Jesus is through the eyesight of a little girl, whom He heals. He is surrounded by a halo. Mary Magdelene arrives afterwards and talks to Judas, who reveals that he is only staying with Jesus in hopes of being made a king after Jesus becomes the king of kings. Jesus casts the Seven Deadly Sins out of Mary Magdalene in a multiple exposure sequence.
