Synopsis
L'histoire de Jérôme, qui s'interroge sur sa vocation de prêtre, racontée à partir d'images en noir et blanc, et d'autres, en couleurs, avec d'autres acteurs. Jérôme doit faire face aux querelles théologiques qui traversent la communauté à laquelle il appartient, aux dissensions entre les Jésuites et les partisans de la Vierge, aux soupçons qui pèsent sur lui.Actors

Simon Eskanazy is a thirty-year-old gay musician. Born into a Jewish family, he took great pains to accept his homosexuality, and to get his family (including his mother and his uncle, Salomon) to do the same. The latter, Uncle Salomon is a wealthy banker who offered him a deal: he'll give him 10 million francs and will bequeath his mansion to Simon only if Simon agrees to marry a woman. First reluctant, he met Rosalie Baumann, a Jewish singer known for singing in Yiddish, she is very observant, and her parents live in the United States. In 1939 Italy, Guido Orefice is a young Jewish man who is leaving his old life and going to work in the city where his uncle lives. Dora is set to be engaged to a rich but arrogant man. He is a local government official with whom Guido has run-ins from the beginning. The devil has a stye in his eye, caused by the purity of a vicar's daughter. The fact that he feels love for the first time now makes him even less attractive to her and Don Juan returns to hell.
