Add to a movie listThe Undead is a 1957 horror film directed by Roger Corman starring Pamela Duncan, Allison Hayes, Richard Garland and Val Dufour. It follows the story of prostitute, Diana Love (Duncan), who is put into a hypnotic trance by psychic Quintis (Dufour), thus causing her to regress back to a previous life. Hayes later starred in Attack of the 50 Foot Woman (1958). The film was released by American International Pictures as a double feature with Voodoo Woman.
Synopsis
The psychic sends the prostitute back in time to find out about her past-life experiences. She goes back as Helene, a woman from the Middle Ages who is to die at dawn under suspicion of being a witch. In an attempt to save Diana (the prostitute) and keep all of time from being distorted, Quintis (the psychic) goes back in time to convince Helene to let herself be killed. If she avoids her death, it will change history.Actors

After her husband Scott (William Schallert), the sheriff of Oracle, is killed by two assailants, his widow Rose (Beverly Garland) is named temporary sheriff. That night, Rose asks Erica Page (Allison Hayes) if she can close her saloon in accordance with town regulations. The women fight, but eventually Erica closes for the night. After Rose exits, Erica tells lackey Jake (Jonathan Haze) to hire a killer, which he does, finding a man named Cane Miro (John Ireland). As Cane enters town, Rose shoots at him, mistaking him for a man she has been searching out. She apologizes. Cane tells Rose that he is going to Oracle to see town mayor Gideon Polk (Martin Kingsley).

Dr. Tom Anderson (Lee Van Cleef), an embittered scientist, has made contact with Zontar, a Venusian creature, while using his radio transmitter. The alien's secret motivation is to take complete control of the Earth by enslaving humanity using mind control devices; the alien claims it only wants to bring peace to our troubled world by eliminating all emotions. Dans un petit village côtier, les hommes ne sont pas rentrés de leur dernière expédition, les femmes décident donc de partir à leur recherche, elles sont rejointes par Ottar, le seul homme qui soit resté au village. Leur drakkar est attaqué par un monstre marin gardien du "Vortex". Le Vortex les précipite sur une rive inconnue, elles sont emmenés en esclavage par le peuple Grimault. Elles tentent de résister mais en vain. Le chef des Grimault, Stark convie les esclaves à un banquet où elles sont malmenées. Voulant tester la force des vikings, le fils de Stark, Senya joue une partie de bras de fer avec Desir, la leader des Vikings, Senya gagne la première manche, Desir la seconde mais les chef les empêche de jouer la belle. Stark propose aux femmes viking de venir avec eux à une partie de chasse.au cours de laquelle Senya est à deux doigts de se faire tuer par un sanglier, il est sauvé par Desir qui tue le sanglier, mais il considère ce sauvetage comme une humiliation et revendique pour lui-même la mort du sanglier. On fait visiter aux femmes vikings la grotte où les mâles sont détenus en esclavage. L'une des femmes tente de les faire évader, mais la prêtresse des vikings, la brune Enger, jalouse de Désir, prévient Stark et fait échouer l'évasion. Stark décrète la mise à mort de Désir et de son amant. Deux buchers sont allumés, et le premier qui demandera grâce aura la vie sauve, mais aucun des deux amoureux ne se décide à le faire. Enger regrette son geste et invoque Thor qui provoque un orage, qui éteint les bûchers tandis que la foudre électrocute Senya qui allait se servir de son épée. Les vikings fuit, mais sont sur le point d'être rattrapés par les Grimault, Enger prend un chemin détournée pour faire diversion et se jette de la falaise, les vikings fuient en barque poursuivi par les Grimault, Le monstre marin survient engloutissant les Grimault tandis qu'Ottar parvient à tuer le monstre d'un coup de lance.

On Los Angeles's skid row, penny-pinching Gravis Mushnick (Mel Welles) owns a florist shop which is staffed by him and his two employees, the sweet but simple Audrey Fulquard (Jackie Joseph) and clumsy Seymour Krelboyne (Jonathan Haze). Although the rundown shop gets little business, there are some repeat customers; for instance, Mrs. Siddie Shiva (Leola Wendorff) shops almost daily for flower arrangements for her many relatives' funerals. Another regular customer is Burson Fouch (Dick Miller), who eats the plants he buys for lunch. When Seymour fouls up the arrangement of Dr. Farb (John Shaner), a sadistic dentist, Mushnick fires him. Hoping Mushnick will change his mind, Seymour tells him about a special plant that he crossbred from a butterwort and a Venus flytrap. Bashfully, Seymour admits that he named the plant "Audrey Jr.", a revelation that delights the real Audrey.

A group of scientists land on a remote island in the Pacific Ocean to search for the previous expedition that disappeared without a trace and to continue their research on the effects of radiation from the Bikini Atoll nuclear tests on the island's plant and sea life.
