It was one of three films shortlisted by Norway to be their submission for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film at the 88th Academy Awards. On 2 September 2015 it was selected to represent Norway for the Foreign Language Oscar.
Synopsis
Kristian Eikjord, géologue expérimenté du Norges vassdrags- og energidirektorat , doit quitter l'équipe chargée de la surveillance de l'Åkerneset — massif montagneux dont l'effondrement créerait un mégatsunami menaçant la population du fjord dont celle de la ville touristique de Geiranger où travaille sa femme Idun Karlsen — afin de travailler pour l'industrie pétrolière. Le jour de son départ, une partie des capteurs détectent une anomalie avec la nappe phréatique avant de dysfonctionner. Décidé de retarder son départ malgré l'impatience de ses proches et les doutes de ses collègues, il constate que la catastrophe est immédiate. La montagne s'effondre et provoque un énorme tsunami dans le bras de mer qui borde la ville.Actors

In 1954, a nuclear bomb is detonated at the moment a giant creature emerges from the ocean. In 1999, Project Monarch scientists Ishiro Serizawa and Vivienne Graham investigate a colossal skeleton unearthed in a collapsed mine in the Philippines. They find two spores; one dormant and one hatched that made a trail into the sea. In Japan, the Janjira Nuclear Power Plant experiences unusual seismic activity and Supervisor Joe Brody sends his wife Sandra and a team of technicians into the reactor. A tremor breaches the reactor, leaving Sandra and her team unable to escape while the plant collapses.

In 1959, student Lucinda Embry (Lara Robinson) hears whispers as she stares at the sun. When her class is chosen to contribute to the school's time capsule, each child is asked to draw what they believe the future will look like. Lucinda writes a page of seemingly random numbers and adds it to her elementary school's time capsule, which is set to be opened in 50 years. Located on the southeastern tip of the Korean Peninsula, Haeundae district of Busan, South Korea draws one million visitors to its beaches every year.
