When Rainbow Brite (Bettina Bush) and her magical horse, Starlite (Andre Stojka), go to Earth to start spring, they meet Stormy (Marissa Mendenhall), another magical girl who controls winter with her horse, Skydancer (Peter Cullen). She, however, doesn't want to end her winter fun, so Rainbow battles her for control over the season. She proves to be no match for Rainbow and Starlite, who outrun her and head off to Earth. Jim Evers is a workaholic real estate agent whose continuous pursuit for new deals leaves very little time with his family. He misses his wedding anniversary with his wife Sara, but to make amends, suggesting going on vacation to a nearby lake. Beforehand, Sara is contacted by the occupants of Gracey Manor, located in the Louisiana bayou. Eager to make a deal, Jim drags Sara and his children Megan and Michael to the mansion. They meet its owner Edward Gracey, his stern butler Ramsley, and other staff members Emma and Ezra. When a storm floods the nearby river, Gracey allows the Evers to stay the night, though everyone save Jim is unhappy with the idea. Ramsley takes Jim down to the library to have a talk with Gracey, but while he waits, Jim gets trapped in a secret passage.

Mastro Geppetto is a poor carpenter with no wife and no children. The man sis institution very lonely, and when trading a piece of wood with his colleague Mastro Cherry, he decides to build a puppet that faces him company. The puppet is Pinocchio. On night comes the Fairy in the carpenter's shop to visit Pinocchio. The woman makes a deal with the puppet: if he behaves well, giving honor to the father, he will become a human being, otherwise he will remain a piece of wood. Pinocchio promises, and magically becomes a kid. But the temptations of life are many, and Pinocchio runs away from home, not going to school, like his father Geppetto wants, and he enters illegally in the company of puppets of the cruel Mangiafoco. Pinocchio, helped by the Fairy, tries to be kind and respectful, but by his brat character, he always brings himself in the midst of trouble.

Sailing to Port Royal, Governor Weatherby Swann, his daughter Elizabeth, and Lieutenant James Norrington encounter a burning shipwreck and recover a young boy Will Turner. Elizabeth hides a golden medallion owned by Will, and sees a ghost ship vanishing into the fog. Sinbad and his pirate crew attempt to steal the magical "Book of Peace" while it travels to Syracuse, Sicily, protected by Proteus. Proteus was once Sinbad's best friend as a child and he tells him if it ever meant anything he can prove it. Sinbad tries to steal the book anyway, but is prevented when Cetus attacks the ship. The two work together to fight off Cetus and for a moment reaffirm their bond. Just when it seems the beast is defeated, Sinbad is dragged off the ship. Proteus goes to save Sinbad, but he is stopped by his crew.
