Stan and Ollie arrive as new inmates at a prison after apparently taking part in a hold-up raid, a raid they tell a prison officer they were only watching. After attempting to escape and giving themselves up after the officer shoots them in the seats of their pants they are sent to dig ditches with other convicts on work detail. After sitting down to eat at the officer's table and chopping down a tree being used as a watchtower, they accidentally puncture the radiator in the prison inspector's car with a pickaxe and then stupidly try to patch it with rice on the advice of another convict. The rice boils up and spews out after the engine is started. This starts a rice-throwing melee with the visiting governor and his party., 19minutes

Ollie is in the hospital with a broken leg. Stan pays him a visit (he did not have anything else to do) bearing a "thoughtful" gift of hard-boiled eggs and nuts. Ollie complains he cannot eat hard-boiled eggs or nuts and asks Stan why he did not bring a box of candy. Stan explains boxes of candy cost too much and that Ollie did not pay him for the last box he had brought him. While eating an egg, Stan knocks over a jug of water and Ollie hits him on the head with a bedpan. Dr. Gilbert comes in to examine Ollie and tells him he should be in the hospital at least two months, to Ollie's delight; this is the first time he remembers having such a wonderful rest. But Stan causes so much trouble, the angry Dr. Gilbert orders both patient and guest out of the hospital at once. "You had nothing else to do so you thought you'd come around and see me," says an irritated Ollie. "Here I was for the first time in my life having a nice peaceful time and you had to come and spoil it. Get my clothes." Before leaving, Stan first manages to destroy a pair of trousers belonging to Ollie's roommate (who is also going home) and then accidentally sits on a hypodermic needle loaded with sedative. The nurse comes in, discovers this and nearly collapses into hysterics. Stan attempts to drive Ollie home, but is nearly asleep at the wheel thanks to the sedative, and the car careens wildly through the streets in a token comic "reckless driving" sequence of hilarious (yet obviously staged) traffic chaos...until Stan finally smashes the car between two streetcars, bending it into a 90 degree angle so that he can only drive round and round in circles.Directed by James Gibbons ParrottOrigin USAGenres ComedyThemes Buddy filmsActors Stan Laurel,

A year prior to the first scene, Stan Laurel married Oliver Hardy's sister (played by Oliver), and Oliver married Stan's sister (played by Stan) in a double wedding. They all live together and Stan and Ollie work in the same office. After some gags involving telephones, the wives are seen making preparations for a surprise party to celebrate their first anniversary during which a cake lands on Mrs. Laurel's head, causing her to bear an uncanny resemblance to a portrait of Elizabeth I on the kitchen wall. Stan and Ollie then arrive but the couples cannot help but squabble throughout the party. In the final scenes a delivery boy (played by Charlie Hall) arrives with another cake which is thrown in Mrs. Laurel's face by an acrimonious Mrs., 20minutes
