Three Hours to Kill is a 1954 western directed by Alfred L. Werker and starring Dana Andrews and Donna Reed.

It inspired the 1956 Roger Corman film Gunslinger.

Synopsis

Jim Guthrie (Dana Andrews) returns to town three years after being falsely accused of murdering Carter Mastin (Richard Webb). He recounts the story of the night of the murder to Sheriff Ben East (Stephen Elliott). Viewers find out that he was strung up by a town mob after it appeared he had indeed committed the murder and he still bored the scar from the ordeal. Laurie (Donna Reed), Carter's sister, who was planning on marrying Jim delivers him from his fate. After being given three hours by the Sheriff to find the true killer, Jim, through much interrogation and speculation is led to the guilty man.

In 1943, at the height of the World War II Battle of the Atlantic, Captain Pat Bannon, skipper of the fishing trawler Daniel Webster, unloads his catch in his home port of Gloucester, Massachusetts. He reluctantly agrees to transport Margaret McLean to Trabo, a small community in Newfoundland. Shorthanded, he hires Danish sailor Konrad, and the Daniel Webster sails for the Grand Banks fishing grounds. Once at sea, another Dane, Holger, reports that the radio has been sabotaged. As Bannon knows all of the crew well except for Konrad and fellow Dane Holger, he suspects one of them or even Margaret of being a German agent.

"Tough Luck" Baxter et "Happy Jack" Clarke, deux prospecteurs, décident de retourner à Baxter City, une ville devenue fantôme quand l'or y a fait défaut. Danny, amoureux de Firefly, lui propose de l'épouser, mais le même soir son mari arrive en ville. Wilcox tente de voler l'or, il est attrapé et jeté hors de la ville. Par loyauté, Firefly l'accompagne. Danny les suit et trouve Firefly, abandonnée dans le désert par Wilcox après qu'il lui a volé son argent et son eau. Justice est rendue quand Wilcox meurt après avoir été mordu par des serpents à sonnette. Firefly peut alors revenir à Baxter City avec Danny.
