Trooper Campbell is a 1914 film from director Raymond Longford based on a poem by Henry Lawson.

It was considered a lost film but was discovered in the 1980s. Film writers Graham Shirley and Brian Adams stated that the film:


Shows an advance on The Romantic Story of Margaret Catchpole, not so much in performance, which is still haunted by melodrama, as in the use of depth of field and positioning within the frame... [It] appears to have been hurriedly made (it was never listed among Longford's major achievements) and displays nowhere near the polish of Alfred Rolfe's The Hero of the Dardanelles, completed halfway through the next year.

The movie consists of eight acts. A woman, Marion Masters (Connie Martyn), runs away from her drunken husband with her baby son. Her husband falls on a knife and dies, their home is destroyed in a fire and she collapses in the bush. By the time she is rescued her son has been found by another family. She remarries a station owner, Stephen Manton (Charles H Francis), and becomes step mother to his two children, Ralph and Marjory. The missing child grows up as Philip Stockdale, the adopted child of the owners of Kooringa Station, who already have a daughter Joan.

In the south coast of England, a young woman, Margaret Catchpole (Lottie Lyell), is pursued by two men, the smuggler Will Laud (Raymond Longford) and the coastguard officer Lieutenant Barry (Augustus Neville). Laud is killed in a fight with coast guards and Margaret is sentenced to Botany Bay for horse stealing. She later marries Barry, who has since moved to Sydney, and becomes well-regarded for her hospital work.

A few months later, Worrall goes to an estate agent with a letter from Fisher saying that he has decided to stay in England and has instructed Worrall to sell his farm.
