The film is entirely spoken in Baseldytsch, a Swiss German dialect, but subtitles in Standard German and English are shown.
The film's subject is the stadium culture of FC Basel supporters during a game (FC Basel vs FC Zürich) in 2005 at the St. Jakob-Park and the importance of the chief supporter, Tobias Haufler, cheering on the crowd.
The film was favoured by critics and has been shown at eight short film festivals, amongst them in Clermont-Ferrand winning the Prix Canal+. The film also screened for a sold out crowd at the opening night screening of Rooftop Films 2007 Summer Series and was later chosen to be a part of the "Doc Shots" program, a collection of the best short non-fiction films from Rooftop's 2007 Summer Series. Various TV stations like ARTE, Canal+ and SF were interested in buying the rights to broadcast, and ARD even planned to broadcast the film during the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany.
The film is heavily disputed amongst supporters of FC Basel. In 2006, Haufler denied to agree on any further public presentations; as of 2007, the film can be purchased in various shops in Basel as well as in internet shops.

S'inspirant du film Les Yeux dans les Bleus, le réalisateur et son caméraman ont filmé de l'intérieur le quotidien de l'équipe au cours de l'épreuve. Le film couvre une période qui va du stage préparatoire à la compétition jusqu'à la fête finale avec les supporteurs allemands à Berlin après le match pour la troisième place remporté contre le Portugal. On y retrouve ainsi les scènes typiques du quotidien des footballeurs telles que les discours des entraîneurs ou la déception après la défaite face à l'Italie en demi-finale. Dans le documentaire, on découvre de manière plus intime les différents joueurs de la sélection. On y apprend par ailleurs que le sélectionneur Jürgen Klinsmann délègue la partie tactique à son adjoint Joachim Löw pour se consacrer à la motivation des joueurs lors de ses « causeries » avant les matchs et pendant les mi-temps.

Football Under Cover is a documentary directed Ayat Najafi and David Assmann about the real soccer game between the Iranian women’s international football (soccer) team and an amateur female soccer team from Berlin, BSV AL-Dersimspor. Marlene, a member of the Berlin team learns about the Iranian female national team through an Iranian friend named Ayat. From this point on, Ayat and Marlene take on the difficult task of organizing a soccer match between the two teams. Martin Levidzhov's journey to becoming Mr Manchester United begins back in 1999 when he was watching the Champions League final between Manchester United and Bayern Munich. In the 89th minute of the match he vowed to change his name to Manchester United if his favourite team managed to turn around the 0:1 negative score.
