Synopsis
Against the advice of his best friend Ted (Michael Weston), Anderson (Jason Biggs) publicly proposes to his girlfriend Vanessa (Audra Blaser), while dressed in a cupid costume. The shock of the unexpected proposal leads to her instantaneous death. Utterly devastated and distraught, Anderson quits his job and goes into mourning. A year later, Anderson is still obsessed with his perfect (and dead) former girlfriend. While Ted and Anderson are lunching together in a diner, to help him move on, Ted persuades Anderson to give romance one more try. To placate his friend, Anderson agrees, looks around, and asks attractive waitress Katie (Isla Fisher) to marry him. To both men's utter astonishment, she accepts Anderson's proposal.Actors

Oliver "Ollie" Trinké (Ben Affleck) is a powerful media publicist in New York City whose wife, Gertrude (Jennifer Lopez), dies during childbirth in 1994. Paul Tannek, (Jason Biggs) a small-town, intelligent kid from Upstate New York is accepted into NYU on an academic scholarship. Trying to follow the advice of his father (Dan Aykroyd) he tries to gain friends by trying to be polite and interested in others. To salvage their reputation the trio concoct a false story to the housing administration about Paul's attitude and have him thrown out of the dorm. Paul takes residence in a veterinary hospital. Chris meets Paul and again concocts another story about how they were trying to help him as a ploy for Paul to let them use the hospital to throw parties since a resident at the dorm fell into sickness due to excessive alcohol, forbidding them to hold any parties thereon.
