The film was a ratings success, despite the negative reception from critics. The second film William & Catherine: A Royal Romance was produced by the Hallmark Channel and released in August 2011.
Produced by Lifetime, the filming of William & Kate took place mostly in Los Angeles, with some second unit location filming in the United Kingdom, and the release date was 18 April 2011. This came eleven days before the wedding of William and Catherine on 29 April 2011.
Kate Middleton is played by Camilla Luddington, an English-born actress, while the part of William is taken by Nico Evers-Swindell, a New Zealander.

Synopsis
Pour la première fois en Angleterre, la tradition est rompue : un membre de la famille royale part faire ses études en Écosse. En effet, le prince William part étudier à l'Université de St Andrews. Sur le campus, il rencontre Kate Middleton qui fait partie de son groupe de travail. Ils deviennent vite complices, et en deuxième année, ils flirtent en secret. Mais le protocole interrompt leur relation. Dans un premier temps, William veut garder leur relation secrète pour la préserver des paparazzis mais finalement, il lui donne un baiser devant ceux-ci. Les médias trouvent alors en leur amour une source d'écriture.Actors

Single mother Jean (Heather Locklear) relocates every time she gets her heart broken by another guy, much to the dismay of her teenage daughter, Holly (Hilary Duff). Holly devises a plan to invent a secret admirer for her mother, so she'll be happy and not have to relocate anymore. Holly overhears her friend Amy's (Vanessa Lengies) uncle Ben (Chris Noth) ordering flowers for a woman, and decides to use his advice on women (which she acquires by telling him she needs help for a school project on romance). Following Ben's advice, she sends her mother orchids and other gifts and love notes, and is soon communicating with her mother as this fictitious admirer (who Holly names Ben) via the internet. As her mother becomes more interested, Holly has to find a photo of this admirer. She sends one of the real Ben, and then devises a reason why they can't meet in person, claiming he is working in China.

William Humphries (Kip Pardue) is at the end of his trust fund after several failed career-attempts. Louis Baxter (Matthew Edison), William's friend, takes him along to the annual endangered animals benefit in L.A. Casey Stuart (Lindsay Lohan), is a tomboy who is the quarterback of her school's 7th-grade football team. Since her mother died, she has been avoiding her old friends and arguing with a boy on her team. Wanting to bring her mother back to life, Casey finds a book of magic with a section on resurrecting the dead at a local book store. A successful resurrection will become permanent unless it is undone before sunset on the fourth day after it begins. However, since the book was expensive, she left all the money she had on the shelf in a glass compartment which is where the book was. Following the book's instructions, Casey collects artifacts from her mother's life, including strands of hair in her hairbrush. However, the resurrection is unwittingly sabotaged when Drew Mitchell (Anne Marie Loder), a woman who works with and is romantically interested in Casey's father Ben (Jere Burns), gives Casey an Eve doll. Eve is a plastic doll in the form of a beautiful young woman, manufactured by Marathon Toys. She has lots of accessories, including outfits appropriate to challenging careers such as law enforcement, medicine, and aerospace, and lives in Sunnyvale, "in the middle of America".
