Dr.Sandeep Kumar (Jeetendra), Inspector Ranjith (Rajinikanth) & Advocate Prakash (Rishi Kapoor) are thickest, best & childhood friends, the three of them grew up together because Prakash is often and Ranjith’s father Daga (Amrish Puri) is a smuggler who left him alone because of his honesty and took his mother & sister with him so Sandeep’s parents (Pran & Shavukar Janaki) brought them up. Ranjith is an honest police officer, Sandeep is a well known doctor in the city, Prakash is a leading criminal lawyer three of them has always clash with Daga who became a big gangster and doesn’t know that Ranjith is his son. Ranjith & Prakash always carrels with Sandeep because the only problem with Sandeep is he is very short temper, he cannot withstand himself if somebody does any injustice to anyone. One day Daga’s gangster (Guru Bachan) kidnaps and rapes Ranjith’s wife Lata (Poonam Dhillon) who is pregnant which is seen by Sandeep and he bits him very hard and takes promise from Lata that she does not reveal this secret. Daga takes advantage of this he kills the gangster and traps Sandeep in that case. Ranjith arrests Sandeep and Prakash takes up the case but Sandeep doesn’t reveal the truth to protect Lata so Prakash makes a story that Sandeep has made the crime to protect his wife to save him, he brings a girl Rekha (Bhanu Priya) as Sandeep’s wife whom Sandeep has protected from few gangsters once a while. Meanwhile Sandeep loves and really marries Rekha and Prakash also loves a thief Shanthi (Kimi Katkar) whose brother is killed by Daga and for whom she is under search. At the end Ranjith comes know the truth, he accepts Lata even though she got raped and he recognizes Daga is his father and Rekha is his sister whom Daga left in streets in the childhood. Finally Sandeep, Ranjith & Prakash join together and defeat Daga.

Ajay (Jeetendra) & Vijay (Dharmendra) are thieves and best friends who are in jail under punishment, one day they meets a guy Manohar who is going to be hanged next day. Manohar wants to meet Ajay & Vijay as his last wish and tells them his story that his sister Radha was kidnapped by a Taxi driver and raped by a rich house guy Dinesh Lal (Shakthi Kapoor). He, his elder brother Dhanny Lal (Prem Chopra), his friend Som Lal (Annupam Kher) and Inspector Emaandar (Kader Khan) trapped him in the murder case of Taxi driver and from that his parents are also missing; Ajay & Vijay promises Manohar that they will save him and postpones his hanging by breaking his leg. Next day when they releases from jail starts their trails to protect Manohar, first of all they traps Inspector Emaandar and keeps him in their grip with his help Vijay joins as body guard for Dinesh and Ajay traps Dhanny Lal’s daughter Rani (Bhanu Priya) into his love. Vijay loves Emaandar’s daughter Inspector Shila (Anita Raj). In this process they come to know Manohar’s parents are kidnapped by Dhanny Lal & Som Lal only because his father Jagan Nath (Shreeram Lagoo) knows a secret of a treasure. Ajay recognizes that Manohar’s parents are only his parents from whom he was separated in childhood and Vijay recognizes that Jagan Nath as killer of his parents there arises a clash between Ajay & Vijay which cams down after knowing the truth that real culprit was Som Lal who killed Vijay’s parents by wearing mask of Jagan Nath. Finally Ajay & Vijay sees end of all culprits, protects the treasure and saves Manohar from hanging.

Kumar (Dharmendra) is interested in boxing but her mother Janki (Nirupa Roy) doesn't like him to be a boxer. He falls in love with his neighbour, Mala (Reena Roy) detective by profession. They were soon to marry. The story moves forward by Mala finding out that G.D. (Amrish Puri) who runs a gym where he trains boxers and only wants his trainee to win boxing championship, he does lots of illegal activities and tries to find out proof against him so that he can be jailed. The story takes turn when Janki gets a call from menal hospital that Ganga has completely recovered and can be discharged from the hospital. She shares her agony with her husband and tells him that it would be impossible to give back her son to his biological mother Ganga. Overhearing this conversation, Kumar is shattered. But when Ganga meets his son for the first time, she doesn't reveal him truth herself realising that Janki is heart patient and would die without Kumar and soon moves to Haridwar. Kumar goes to Haridwar to find her and brings her back and give her a house to stay. He doesn't reveal Janki about their association. Soon he comes to know that his biological father, Ajay (Dara Singh) was a boxing champion and was killed by G.D. Kumar decides to take revenge by winning boxing championship against those killers and he finally succeeds. But, seeing murder of her husband murderers, Ganga again loses her mental balance and dies on the spot. Kumar comes back home and break the news in front his parents that Ganga is dead but still doesn't confess that he knows the truth. The story ends with family remembering Ganga.

The story revolves around Dharamraj "Dada" Thakur (Anil Kapoor). Since the death of his father Ghajraj Thakur(Rajinikanth), Dada Thakur has been the head of the village. Retired and widowed judge Umakant Verma (Ashok Kumar) lives a wealthy lifestyle with his only son, Dr. Shashikant (Jeetendra). Gauri (Rekha), the daughter of Umakant's childhood friend, Narayan Singh (A.K. Hangal), is the lead servant in the house, but she has never been treated as a servant but rather as a family member. When Umakant makes his last will and testament, he wants Shashikant to marry Gauri. And indeed, after Umakant's death, Shashikant and Gauri get married. Soon Gauri gives birth to a boy, Ravikant (Sachin), and a few months later gets pregnant again. However, before she gives birth, she finds out that Shashikant has been seeing his former girlfriend Krishna (Asha Sachdev), not understanding that he is treating her sick daughter. One night, Krishna calls the house seeking Sashikant's help for her daughter. Gauri, who receives the call and suspects an affair, refuses to relay the message to Sashikant. Consequently, Krishna's daughter dies. An intense rift happens between Gauri and Shashikant, and Gauri leaves the house. Angry about how Gauri was responsible for Krishna's daughter's death, he does not let her take their son with her. Ravikant is brought up by his father, while Gauri gives birth to another son, Umakant (Arun Govil), and does her best to bring him up. Street-wise and poor, Amar Nath (Amitabh Bachchan) makes a living selling cinema tickets and fast-food snacks (Bhel Puri) outside cinema halls. He is taken under the wing of a politician and Chair of the "Garibon Ki Party", Shankar Narayan (Kader Khan), allowed to join the Police Academy, and returns as a Police Inspector. He falls in love and gets married to Asha (Sridevi), the only daughter of multi-millionaire businessman, Sitaram (Utpal Dutt). When he successfully apprehends and kills a terrorist by the name of Anil Raj (played by Tiger Prabhakar), he is promoted as the Assistant Commissioner of Police. Then Amar also apprehends and kills a smuggler by the Koya Koya Atachi (Shakti Kapoor), and gets immensely popular with the public, so much so that Shankar Narayan resigns and asks Amar to be the Chair of the political party, which Amar accepts and quits his job from the Police Force. It is then that pregnant Asha finds out that Amar is not who he claims to be but is a pawn in the hands of skilled politicians - who have been using him as their hit-man, and now are ready to use him as the Chief Minister so that they can carry on with their nefarious activities. Crime and corruption have taken over Bombay City without any solution. A rash of kidnappings of young women takes place. One auto-rickshaw driver Auto Kesariya is behind this crime. The policemen of Kala Chowki Police Station are doing little to stop these crimes. Former Assistant Commissioner of Police, Arjun Verma is reinstated and assigned to this case. Arjun gets himself deeply involved in this disappearance and the kidnappings and faces the shock and trauma of finding skeletal remains of young women who have been abducted as well as body parts stolen from innocent patients from hospitals. His personal life also turns upside down as his fiancée abandons him on his wedding day, while his niece is abducted and held for ransom, and above all Arjun Verma himself becomes the target of assassins hired by influential politicians and senior police officials.
