Yeh Dil(English: This Heart ) is a 2003 Hindi film directed by Teja and starring Tusshar Kapoor and Anita Hassanandani. This movie proved to be moderately successful. This movie is a remake of 2001 hit Telugu film Nuvvu Nenu. Anita Hassanandani reprised her role from Nuvvu Nenu. This movie was later remade in bengali as "Dujone"with Dev and Srabanti in the lead roles.

Synopsis

Ravi Pratap Singh (Tusshar Kapoor) is a college student and the son of a wealthy businessman Raghuraj Pratap Singh (Akhilendra Mishra). His best friend Kabir always helps him. Ravi lives with his father, as his mother died. Vasundhara Yadav (Anita Hassanandani), is the daughter of a middle class wrestler Mithua Yadav (Vineet Kumar) studying in the same college. She lives in a joint family with many of her relatives. Ravi excels in sports, but is terrible in academics. Vasu doesn't pay attention to sports and focuses on academics.

Ravi, played by Uday Kiran, is the son of a multimillionaire in Hyderabad. Vasundhara (Anita), is the daughter of a milk supplier. Ravi and Vasundhara both study in same college. The film starts with Vasundhara showing hatred towards Ravi, as he is a sportsman who is not good in his studies. Over a period of time, her hatred turns into love. Finally, they both fall in love, but their parents do not agree for their marriage. Parents plan to avoid the marriage by giving the couple a clause that they should not meet each other for one year. If their love remains even after one year then their parents would agree to let them marry.

Janaki (Reema Sen) and her sister are NRIs who want to join a PU college in AP. Janaki stays with her uncle and procures the admission in the same college as Ramana (Uday Kiran), a die-hard music fan. When Janaki first sees him in the music room practicing they get attracted to each other. When family members of Ramana are away, Janaki happens to come to Ramana's house wearing a saree. As she does not know how to wear saree, all she does is drape it around her body . Ramana offers to teach her how to wear a saree then accidentally he puts hand inside her saree skirt which makes them both feel shy and attracted. In the process they consummate their passion. After a few days Janaki informs Ramana that she is pregnant. Ramana, along with his friends, hires a nurse to perform abortion on Janaki. When Ramana asks Janaki to prepare for the abortion, she refuses to do so as she says she wants a company of a kid. Janaki tells him that her mother used to tell her that when she dies she will be reborn as Janaki's child. Janaki is then told by the college Principal to take rest and write the exam following year. When Ramana's parents talk to Janaki's uncle he blames Ramana.

The story is centered in a village where the parents of first cousins Sujatha (Sadha) and Raghu (Gopichand) decide that both will be married when they become adults. As a child, Sujatha's uncle gives her anklets, which she wears as she grows up. As they grow older, Raghu is caught smuggling money from his house. At school, Raghu beats up a kid for talking to Sujatha. They quarrel, and soon Raghu's family leaves for another village. Sujatha grows to be an attractive college girl while the villain Raghu becomes a good-for-nothing character. On her way to college, Sujatha meets up with Venkat (Nitin), a poor but handsome, charming enthusiastic boy, and soon after their quarrels they fall in love. Meanwhile, Raghu's parents, hoping that he will become a responsible person after marriage, decide to carry out his marriage with Sujatha. The whole story takes a turn when Sujatha's parents learn about her love affair with Venkat. On the day of her marriage, Sujatha elopes with Venkat and the action hots up as they are chased by Raghu and his thugs.Finally, the villain Raghu is defeated in a face-to-face combat by Venkat, and Venkat marries Sujatha.

Sidda Reddy (Jaya Prakash Reddy) is a powerful mafia leader whose right hand is Devudu (Gopichand). Devudu has a lover called Malli (Raasi). Reddy - who also like Malli - takes her to the bed, which is not liked by Devudu. In the process, Devudu kills Reddy and he becomes the leader of the mafia gang. Venkateswarlu (Ranganath) is a fire officer. In an incident, Devudu sets a marketplace a fire and Venkateswarlu rescues it with his firefighting and at the same time Venkateswarlu slaps Devudu, as he continues throwing Kerosene at the marketplace. Devudu holds a grudge against Venkateswarlu and sends him to jail on a framed charge of murder. Seetaram (Mahesh Babu) who is the son of Venkateswarlu tries to rescue his father from the jaws of police. But in the process, everybody starts asking him for money to do the work. At the end of the day, the police officer kills Venkateswarlu. The rest of the story is about how Seetaram's mother (Talluri Rameswari) takes revenge on the people responsible for the death of her husband with the help of her son Seetaram. The criminals involved in the crime of his father's death are killed one after the other by the mother and the son in a planned and scientific manner. This film tells about an innocent boy, who along with his mother undergoes injustice and also loses his father in this process. The mother in this situation plays the role of a trainer and a guide to her son, making him strong physically and emotionally, to fight back.
