Hobie Buchannon is a fictional character from the TV series Baywatch. He was played by Brandon Call in the show's first season on NBC (1989-90), and by Jeremy Jackson on the syndicated revival from 1991 to 1999 and in the 2003 reunion movie Baywatch: Hawaiian Wedding.
Hobie was the son of the lifeguard Mitch Buchannon. In Baywatch: Hawaiian Wedding, Hobie forms a romantic relationship with his long-time crush Summer Quinn.
His parents are divorced and his mom, Gayle appears in the pilot, four single episodes and in a two-part episode ranging from season 1-5.
According to David Hasselhoff, the role of Hobie Buchannon almost went to Leonardo DiCaprio.
