Hobie Buchannon is a fictional character from the TV series Baywatch. He was played by Brandon Call in the show's first season on NBC (1989-90), and by Jeremy Jackson on the syndicated revival from 1991 to 1999 and in the 2003 reunion movie Baywatch: Hawaiian Wedding.Hobie was the son of the lifeguard Mitch Buchannon. In Baywatch: Hawaiian Wedding, Hobie forms a romantic relationship with his long-time crush Summer Quinn.
His parents are divorced and his mom, Gayle appears in the pilot, four single episodes and in a two-part episode ranging from season 1-5.
According to David Hasselhoff, the role of Hobie Buchannon almost went to Leonardo DiCaprio.

Mitch Buchannon (David Hasselhoff) was believed to have died in a boating accident at the end of the 10th season of Baywatch. However, it turns out he only had amnesia and has been recovering in a Los Angeles hospital. His new fiancée, Allison Ford (Alexandra Paul), resembles his old lover, Lt. Stephanie Holden (also played by Alexandra Paul), who died during the seventh season of Baywatch. However, she is cooperating with an old nemesis of Mitch's, the still undead Mason Sato (Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa) from the second season, to get revenge on Mitch.
