Trude is a fictional character featured in the Australian television series, Kath & Kim and is portrayed by Gina Riley. Trude is a snobby middle-aged shop assistant. Trude has a friend called Prue, and they work a few hours a week in an unnamed homewares store at the Fountain Gate Shopping Center. The two of them like to pick on Kath Day-Knight and Kel Knight; occasionally Sharon Strzelecki and Kim Craig as they come in, but not to their face. Trude is married to a plastic surgeon called Graham, who never appears in the show but is frequently mentioned. Both Trude and Prue speak in an exaggerated version of the cultivated Australian accent, which can be heard in certain higher socio-economic areas of Melbourne and Sydney. Trude also has an unseen daughter, who has married three times and is a lesbian, getting married to another lesbian, even though same-sex marriage wasn't legally recognized in Australia during the series' run.

While visiting the local pharmacy for wart remover, Kath fills out a form for a chance to win a holiday to (the fictional) "Kingdom of Papilloma", on the heel of Italy (with the real scenes being filmed in Positano). Initially asking Kel, who refuses to travel because of his fear of flying and his dedication to watching the finals of MasterChef, Kath reluctantly decides to take Kim and Sharon (Magda Szubanski) along on the trip. Coincidentally, Prue (Jane Turner) and Trude (Gina Riley) are clandestinely embarking on a holiday to Italy at the same time.
