Biography
Diplômé de l'université de Dongguk à Séoul et de l'université nationale des arts à Séoul, Ahn Sang-hoon commence, en 2003, sa carrière cinématographique en tant qu'assistant réalisateur du film romantique …ing (아이엔지) de Lee Eon-hee. L'année suivante, il tourne un court-métrage intitulé Pass Over en 2004, présenté au Festival international du court-métrage de Busan et au Festival international des arts visuels de Corée où il remporte le prix du meilleur réalisateur.Après avoir produit en tant que producteur exécutif Bad Guy (나쁜 남자) de Kim Ki-duk en 2002, il écrit et réalise son premier long-métrage mêlé de thriller et d'horreur Arang (아랑) avec Song Yoon-ah et Lee Dong-wook, qui sort en 2006.

Kim Min-jae is a brilliant general who's distinguished himself by protecting the borders of the recently established Joseon dynasty. He keeps a close eye on Yi Bang-won, the fifth son of King Taejo, whom he believes has ambitions of seizing the throne. Lu Xiaoming est officier de police. Un soir qu’elle sort d’un night club avec son jeune frère, elle se dispute avec lui. Ils ont un accident de cir- culation. Il est tué sur le coup et Xiaoming reste aveugle. Trois ans plus tard, rentrant à son domicile en taxi, elle est intriguée par le compor- tement du chauffeur, et préviens la police qui ne la prend pas au sérieux. Par hasard, un jeune homme a été témoin de l’accident et témoigne que le véhicule n’était pas un taxi. Lorsqu'il est pris en chasse et presque tué, la police commence à s’intéresser à l’affaire. After losing both her parents, Failan (Cecilia Cheung) immigrates to Korea to seek her only remaining relatives. Once she reaches Korea, she finds out that her relatives have moved to Canada well over a year ago. Desperate to stay and make a living in Korea, Failan is forced to have an arranged marriage through a match-making agency. Kang-jae (Choi Min-sik) is an old and outdated gangster who has no respect from his peers. Short on money, Kang-jae decides to take on the arranged marriage. Having nothing more than a picture of Kang-jae, Failan spends her days dreaming and wishing that Kang-jae would come to visit her. Failan often writes to Kang-jae in sorrow about how much she misses and thinks about him, but never has the nerve to give the letters to Kang-jae. Things take a turn when Kang-jae is asked by his boss to take the fall for a murder in exchange for some money. The only hope in his worthless life is the wife he never met.
