Brett Murphy (born October 4, 1991) is an American actor who is notable for his role as Ryan in the 2004 film Fever Pitch and as Edwin in the American sitcom Hope & Faith.

Brett first performed in local youth theater productions of You're a Good Man Charlie Brown as Linus, The Wizard of Oz, The Emperor's New Clothes and Fiddler on the Roof. Brett has also appeared in a number of commercials for Disney World, Ocean Spray, General Mills, an award winning Major's Dept. Stores spot, Campbell's, The New York Post, Papa Gino's, host of the 2004 Nomar Garciaparra "Nomar Bowl" and a PSA for Project Liberty in New York City directed by Bob Balaban.

Brett appeared with Jimmy Fallon and Drew Barrymore in the feature film Fever Pitch directed by the Farrelly Brothers. Brett plays the role of Ryan and has one of the best lines in the movie when asking his teacher Ben Wrightman (Jimmy Fallon) ..."you love the Sox, but have they ever loved you back?"

On ABC's sit-com Hope and Faith, with Kelly Ripa, Faith Ford and Ted McGinley, Brett played the recurring role of Edwin, Haley's (Macey Cruthird) "study partner" and the younger brother of Henry (Stark Sands). Other television work has included The Denis Leary Merry Christmas on Comedy Central, a spoof commercial role with Amy Poehler on Saturday Night Live and a guest starring role on the 2006 Fox drama pilot "Damages".

Brett was initiated into the Sigma Chi Fraternity at The University of Pittsburgh.

Brett resides in Massachusetts with his family and his Shih Tzu Ruby whom he loves very much.

Ben Wrightman, a 7-year-old boy, is going to a Red Sox game with his Uncle Carl. His uncle, who had not children of his own, treated Ben like a son. A narration explains that on that day, Ben became a die-hard Red Sox fan. Just about everything he owns bears the Red Sox name, emblem, or image of a Red Sox player (with the exception of his toilet paper, which bears the New York Yankees insignia). Ben inherited his uncle's season tickets when Carl died. The story picks up 23 years later with Ben (Jimmy Fallon) as a school teacher who is immature for his age. He meets Lindsey Meeks (Drew Barrymore), a professionally successful workaholic executive. When Ben first asks her out, Lindsey rejects him, but she later changes her mind and agrees to go out with him.
