Claus Boje travaille à la fin des années 1980 pour une quinzaine de cinémas à Munich et à Berlin, notamment le Delphi Filmpalast avec ses partenaires Walter Jonigkeit et Georg Kloster. En 1989, il crée sa société de distribution, Delphi Filmverleih Gmbh. La même année, il fait la connaissance du réalisateur Detlev Buck avec qui il fonde en 1991 la société BojeBuck Produktion qui prend en charge les succès du réalisateur puis des réalisateurs espoir du cinéma allemand.Usually with

"When Miriam splits up with her wealthy lover, she and her 15-year-old son Michael have to move from posh Zehlendorf to run-down Berlin-Neukölln. Frank Lehmann (Christian Ulmen) is a bartender working in Kreuzberg, a borough of West Berlin in October 1989, in the final weeks before the fall of the Berlin Wall. As he is approaching his 30th birthday, his friends start teasing him by calling him "Herr Lehmann" ("Mr. Lehmann"). He has little interest in anything outside of SO 36, the eastern part of the borough of Kreuzberg. He has a brief relationship with Katrin (Katja Danowski), a cook at a nearby bar. Michael (or 'Micha') is a 17-year-old growing up in communist East Germany (GDR) in the 1970s. He spends his time with his friends listening to banned pop music, partying and trying to win over the heart of Miriam, who is dating a West Berlin boy. Over the course of the movie his best friend Mario, falls for an existentialist, gets kicked out of school and subsequently discovers he is going to be a father. The closing of the movie upsets Micha's thus far idealistic life, as Mario sells out his ideals by signing up for military service to support his girlfriend and the child. Furthermore, his young blonde friend, Wuschel, is shot by a GDR guard, but survives, thanks to The Rolling Stones double album Exile on Main St. in which the bullet has lodged. The young boy is devastated, however, prominently displaying the importance of pop music in their lives.

Prison warden Dr. Fazetti (Leander Haußmann) is confident about having found a striking new concept for the rehabilitation of prisoners by offering them the chance to take a break from their sentence if only they can find themselves a trustworthy woman who takes care of them and moreover vouches for them. The convicts Steinbock (Til Schweiger) and Hammer-Gerd (Detlev Buck) succeed in doing so. However, since they are tough guys stamped by prison fights they have their issues when it comes to discipline and it is in particular hard for them to have a lady as boss. However, Steinbock falls in love with Emilia (Marie Bäumer) and Hammer-Gerd promotes Maren's career as a singer. (Heike Makatsch, who played Maren, would later in 2009 even play the German actress and singer Hildegard Knef in a biopic called Hilde.) Eventually they have go back behind bars but Emilia and Maren are now waiting for them.
