Cody Jarrett is an American feature filmmaker. Initially a musician living in Tampa Bay, Florida, his Hollywood career started with being cast by mega-director Renny Harlin (Cliffhanger) and mega-producer Joel Silver (The Matrix) in a supporting role in 1990's Andrew Dice Clay film The Adventures of Ford Fairlane (20th Century-Fox). Following the tragic death of his dog "Tippy" Cody played music in Los Angeles, both as a solo artist and in various bands (most notably Teen Machine, featuring Tikiyaki Orchestra founder Jim Bacchi, Dig guitarist Johnny Cornwell, and actor Amanda Foreman) while working as a crew member on other films, making short films, and acting in the occasional television commercial.

Cody's first feature, FROG-G-G! (Japanese title: FROGMAN) was released in 2004 on Koch Entertainment. Featuring cult icons Mary Woronov (Rock And Roll High School) and James Duval (Independence Day), the film won Grand Jury Prize/Best Feature at the 2004 New York Film And Video Festival. However, the film may be most famous for a series of wild publicity stunts (crashing the Michael Jackson trial, appearing on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno) which garnered it international press attention. Following FROG-G-G!'s release, Cody directed an array of television commercials, music videos and a sports documentary for female MMA star Miesha "Takedown" Tate, ROUND ONE.

Cody's second feature was the 1970's women-in-prison film SUGAR BOXX (2009, Lightning Entertainment, Showtime Networks, Entertainment One Home Video). An homage to the classic Jack Hill/Pam Grier films of the 1970's (FOXY BROWN, BIG DOLL HOUSE, BLACK MAMA, WHITE MAMA), SUGAR BOXX featured performances by Russ Meyer stars Tura Satana and Kitten Natividad, as well as genre inventor Jack Hill himself. The film received widespread critical and audience accolades, and is rumored to be one of the inspirations for the hit series Orange Is The New Black.

Currently Cody is in pre-production on TURA!, a documentary chronicling the life of actor/burlesque dancer Tura Satana, best known for her role in 1965's Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill! Jarrett is directing and co-producing with Satana's long-time manager Siouxzan Perry. Release is scheduled for 2014.

Cody Jarrett is also the screen name of the leading villain in White Heat, portrayed by James Cagney. His character is ranked 26 in the list of AFI's 100 Years... 100 Heroes and Villains.

Ford Fairlane (Andrew Dice Clay) is seen sitting on a beach smoking as the film opens. A flashback initiates, showing a roaring crowd at a concert given by fictional popular heavy metal band The Black Plague. Lead singer Bobby Black (Vince Neil) makes an eccentric entrance down a zip-line onto the stage and begins performing. Shortly into one of the band's songs, Bobby Black collapses on stage and dies.
