Danny Lee Wynter (born 25 May 1982) is a British actor and campaigner best known for his performance in Stephen Poliakoff's films Joe's Palace and Capturing Mary, and for founding the campaign group the Act For Change Project.

Biography

Lee Wynter was born in Barking, London. His mother is of Romany Gypsy and Italian ancestry, and his father of Jamaican descent.

He studied as an actor at both Middlesex University and the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and upon graduating in 2006 was cast as the leading actor opposite Sir Michael Gambon and Dame Maggie Smith in Stephen Poliakoff's BBC/HBO films Joe's Palace and Capturing Mary.

He made his stage debut as the Fool to David Calder's King Lear in the 2008 season for Shakespeare's Globe. Other work for Shakespeare's Globe includes Henry IV Part I and II opposite Roger Allam, The Frontline and Bedlam. In 2013 he played Don John in Mark Rylance's production of Much Ado About Nothing for The Old Vic Theatre Company opposite Vanessa Redgrave and James Earl Jones. He has also appeared in plays for The Royal Court, Jermyn Street Theatre and The Royal Exchange Manchester.

In 2015 he played Tom Wingfield in a production of Tennessee Williams' The Glass Menagerie for the Nuffield Theatre.

His screen credits include Hot Fuzz, Trial & Retribution, Luther, Holby City, Episodes, Mr Stink, and the BBC's adaptation of Agatha Christie's Partners In Crime.

Lee Wynter is founder of The Act For Change Project, the campaign for greater diversity in the arts.

He has previously written for The Stage Newspaper, The Huffington Post, The Guardian and The Evening Standard.

Chloe, a twelve-year-old girl wants to help her friend Mr. Stink but she does not know how. She wrote a story that her mother tore up because she wants Chloe to work at school. Chloe thinks that her mother does not love her as she loves her little sister. Chloe hides her friend in the shed and discovers that her father was a member of a rock band. Chloe's mother was invited to a TV show and Chloe's parents were obliged to take Mr. Stink.
