Donald Edmond "Donnie" Wahlberg, Jr. (born August 17, 1969) is an American singer, actor, and film producer. He is a founding member of the boy band New Kids on the Block. Outside of music, he has had featured roles in the Saw films, The Sixth Sense, Dreamcatcher, and Righteous Kill, also appearing in the World War II miniseries Band of Brothers. From 2002–2003, he starred in the well-received but short-lived crime drama Boomtown. He has been starring in the drama series Blue Bloods with Tom Selleck and Bridget Moynahan since 2010, and since 2014 is an executive producer of the TNT reality television show Boston's Finest. He was nominated for Choice Scream at the 2008 Teen Choice Awards for his work in the Saw films.
Wahlberg is a passionate fan of the Boston Celtics and has been seen attending many of their games. He narrated a documentary called "The Association: Boston Celtics" about the team's 2010–11 season, which aired on ESPN between 2010 and 2011. He also owns a restaurant in Boston named Wahlburgers with brothers Paul (the restaurant's head chef) and Mark.

Wahlberg married Kim Fey on August 20, 1999. They filed for divorce on August 13, 2008, citing "irreconcilable differences". They have two sons, Xavier Alexander Wahlberg (born March 4, 1993) and Elijah Hendrix Wahlberg (born August 20, 2001). As of July 2013, it was reported by UsWeekly that he was dating actress and comedian Jenny McCarthy after meeting on Watch What Happens Live in March. They announced their engagement on The View on April 16, 2014. They wed on August 31, 2014, at the Hotel Baker in St. Charles, Illinois.Wahlberg is a passionate fan of the Boston Celtics and has been seen attending many of their games. Two men, Brad and Ryan, wake up in a metropolitan storefront window. Each man is bound at the wrists to opposite side of a worktable with a circular saw in front of them. Their mutual lover, Dina, is suspended above a third saw. As a crowd gathers and police attempt to break the window, a puppet informs the men that one of them can kill the other or they can let Dina die. They initially fight each other, during which Brad is cut, but they soon realize Dina's betrayal and allow her to die instead.

Police psychologists review recordings of a man (Robert De Niro), who states his name as Detective David Fisk, the "Poetry Boy" killer. The Poetry Boy earned the moniker for his modus operandi of murdering criminals and leaving short poems with their bodies. Convicted murderer Seth Baxter wakes up chained to a table beneath a pendulum blade. A videotape informs him that he can release himself by crushing his hands between two presses. He does so, but the blade still swings down and cuts him in half as someone watches through a hole in the wall. In the meatpacking plant, FBI Agent Peter Strahm guns down Jeff Denlon and is locked in the sickroom. He discovers a hidden exit with a microcassette recorder, which urges him to stay in the sickroom. He ignores it and is attacked in the tunnel by a pig-masked figure, waking up with his head sealed in a box which quickly fills with water; he survives by performing a tracheotomy using his pen. Outside, Detective Mark Hoffman delivers Corbett Denlon to the police and claims they are the only survivors, and is shocked when Strahm is also brought out alive.

During John Kramer's autopsy, a wax-coated microcassette is found in his stomach. Detective Mark Hoffman is called in and learns from it that he will still be tested and, despite Kramer's death, the games will continue. In a mausoleum, two men awaken chained at the neck to a winch. One's eyes are sewn shut, as is the other's mouth, making communication impossible. In a blind panic, the blinded man activates the winch and attacks the muted man, who kills him and frees himself with the key on the other collar.

Getting ready for dinner one night, Jamie Ashen and his wife Lisa receive a mysterious ventriloquist doll named "Billy", in an unmarked package. Wondering who sent the doll, Lisa recalls a poem about a woman named Mary Shaw. Jamie disregards this and leaves to get dinner. After Lisa plays around with Billy, all the sounds disappear and something attacks Lisa. When Jamie arrives with their dinner, he hears Lisa call him into the bedroom, but becomes confused when he notices blood all over the floor. Jamie finds Lisa in their bed, dead with her tongue ripped out, and Billy lying near her body. Detective Jim Lipton brings Jamie in for questioning of the murder of his wife, but releases him due to lack of evidence. While ripping the lining of the box Billy came in, Jamie discovers that Billy belonged to Mary Shaw, a ventriloquist from his hometown of Ravens Fair.

After Amanda Young seals him in the bathroom, Eric Matthews escapes his shackle by breaking his foot with a toilet tank cover. Six months later, he is still missing. A SWAT team led by Lieutenant Daniel Rigg discovers the site of a Jigsaw game in which the victim, Troy, had to escape a bomb by ripping chains from his body. Rigg calls Detectives Mark Hoffman and Allison Kerry, who is guilt-ridden over Matthews' disappearance, to the scene. Kerry points out that the door was welded shut, breaking Jigsaw's modus operandi of giving his victims a chance to escape. She is abducted from her home that night while reviewing Troy's tape and awakens in a harness that is hooked into her ribs. She manages to retrieve the key from a suspended beaker of acid and unlocking it before the timer expires, but it tears her rib cage apart anyway, killing her.

The miniseries presented a dramatization of the sequence of events leading to the September 11, 2001 attacks by Al Qaeda on the United States, starting from the 1993 World Trade Center bombing and up to the minutes after the collapse of the World Trade Center in 2001. The point of view of the movie is from two primary protagonists: John P. O'Neill, and a composite Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) agent, "Kirk". O'Neill was the real-life Special Agent in charge of Al Qaeda investigations at the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He died in the collapse of the Twin Towers on September 11 shortly after retiring from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and taking the position of Director of Security for the World Trade Center. The composite CIA agent "Kirk" is shown dealing with various American allies, especially Northern Alliance leader Ahmed Shah Massoud, in Afghanistan. In addition, "Patricia", a CIA headquarters analyst, represents the views of the rank and file at CIA headquarters. The miniseries features dramatizations of various incidents summarized in the 9/11 Commission Report, and represented in high level discussions held within both the Clinton and Bush administrations. The final hour of the movie dramatizes the events of 9/11, including a re-creation of the second plane entering the World Trade Center, Tom Burnett's calls to his wife, and John Miller's reporting near the scene of the attacks. The film concludes with information about the recommendations of the 9/11 Commission, as well as the performance evaluation the Commission gave the government when it reconvened in 2005.

Informant Michael Marks wakes up to find a spike-filled mask locked around his neck. A videotape informs him that he has sixty seconds to remove his eye with the scalpel and retrieve the key, but he cannot bring himself to do so and is killed when the mask closes. Detective Eric Matthews, is called to the scene by Detective Allison Kerry when a message for him is found. Although he is initially reluctant to join the case, Eric joins Kerry and Sergeant Daniel Rigg in leading a SWAT team to an old factory. There they find the John Kramer, The Jigsaw Killer, who he is weak from cancer, and several computer monitors showing eight people trapped in a house. Among them are Amanda Young, Jigsaw's only known survivor, and Eric's estranged son Daniel. A nerve agent filling the house will kill them within two hours, but John assures Eric he will get Daniel back if Eric talks with John until the game is complete. At Kerry's urging, Eric reluctantly agrees in order to buy time for the police tech team to arrive and trace the video signal.
