Eleanor Lucy V. "Ellie" Kendrick (born 6 June 1990) is an English actress best known for playing Anne Frank in the BBC's 2009 miniseries The Diary of Anne Frank, Ivy Morris in the first series of the 2010 revived Upstairs Downstairs, and Meera Reed in the HBO series Game of Thrones.

Biography

Éducation et études
Ellie Kendrick a étudié à Benenden School à Benenden dans le Kent. Elle est également une ancienne élève du National Youth Theatre. En 2009, elle fait une brève interruption dans ses études (« a gap year ») avant de s'inscrire à l'automne à l'université de Cambridge pour étudier l'anglais.


Carrière
En 2009, elle fait ses débuts sur les planches du théâtre du Globe où elle joue Juliet de la pièce Roméo et Juliette en compagnie de Adetomiwa Edun dans le rôle de Romeo.

Today is Dolly's (Felicity Jones) wedding day, and her family is arriving at the manor house with all the cheerfulness, chaos and petty grievances that bubble to the surface at such gatherings. In 1961 London, Jenny Mellor is a 16-year-old schoolgirl preparing for Oxford University when she meets a charming older man driving a Bristol 405, David Goldman, who pursues her romantically. He takes her to concerts, clubs and fine restaurants, easily charming her parents into approving of the relationship. Later, Jenny discovers that David is a con man who makes money through a variety of shady practices. She is initially shocked but silences her misgivings in the face of David's charm. Jenny's parents invite Graham, a boy Jenny knows from Youth Orchestra, to Jenny's birthday party but David arrives and Graham goes home. A few days later, David takes Jenny to Paris as a birthday gift, where she loses her virginity to him. When David proposes marriage, Jenny accepts and leaves school. However, she later discovers David is already married. When she reveals her discovery to David, he drops out of sight. Jenny despairs, feeling she has thrown her life away but, with the help of her favourite teacher, resumes her studies and is accepted at Oxford the following year.

In 1945, as a truckload of war survivors stops in front of an Amsterdam factory at the end of World War II, Otto Frank (Joseph Schildkraut) gets out and walks inside. After climbing the stairs to a deserted garret, Otto finds a girl's discarded glove and sobs, then is joined and comforted by Miep Gies (Dodie Heath) and Mr. Kraler (Douglas Spencer), factory workers who shielded him from the Nazis. After stating that he is now all alone, Otto begins to search for the diary written by his youngest daughter, Anne. Miep promptly retrieves the journal for Otto, and he receives solace reading the words written by his young daughter three years earlier.
