Eri Fukatsu (深津 絵里, Fukatsu Eri, born 11 January 1973) is a Japanese actress. She won the award for best actress at the 18th Yokohama Film Festival for Haru and the best actress award at the 2010 Montreal World Film Festival for her performance in Villain. She also received acclaim for her role in the Japanese TV series Bayside Shakedown and the subsequent spin-off films of the series. From 1988 to 1992, she starred in "Christmas Express" commercials for the Central Japan Railway Company.
Eri Fukatsu made her show business debut at age 13, winning the Miss Harajuku Grand Prix (ミス原宿グランプリ) held in Tokyo's Harajuku (原宿) neighborhood.

Emi Hosho, a third-rate lawyer without much of a future, is tasked with defending Goro Yabe, a man arrested for the murder of his wife. Without much hope of winning, Yabe proclaims his innocence, saying that he was under sleep paralysis at the time of the murder. Emi heads to the inn where Yabe stayed and encounters the ghost of fallen samurai Rokubei Sarashina, who claims he was the one holding Yabe in sleep paralysis. L'Equation préférée du Professeur est d'abord un roman de Yoko Ogawa, publié en 2003 et adapté en 2006 au cinéma par Takashi Koizumi. L'histoire est centrée autours d'un mathématicien, le Professeur, dont le cerveau a été endommagé suite à un accident de voiture en 1975. Depuis lors, sa mémoire se réduit aux 80 minutes qui viennent de passer, sans qu'il puisse donc se remémorer quoi que ce soit avant l'accident qui l'a laissé invalide...sans pour autant que ses facultés de mathématicien s'en trouvent détériorées. Le film conte l'histoire du Professeur dans ses relations, parfois difficiles, avec sa nouvelle femme de ménage, Kyoko, et le fils de cette dernière bientôt surnommé Racine. Peu à peu, entre les 3, se tissent des liens, essentiellement basés sur les mathématiques, qui constituent la seule raison d'exister du Professeur.

The movie takes place again in the fictional Wangan Station of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, in the five years since the previous movie, the once empty space within Wangan's jurisdiction (the station was once referred to disparagingly as "the empty space station" by the surrounding jurisdictions) has become a popular tourist attraction, the officers at Wangan Station now have their hands full dealing with all manner of tourist related issues. In a sign of how much has not changed in the last five years, when Detective Sergeant Shunsaku Aoshima and several of other detectives playing the part of terrorists defeat a Special Assault Team unit during a counterterrorism exercise in front of the police brass and the media, all the detectives promptly have their pay docked by headquarters.

Three men, who grew up together in the orphanage, wanting to finally realize their childhood dreams of living in paradise decide to rob a bank together. Nishiyama (Takeshi Kaneshiro), the leader, Takamura (Hiroyuki Ikeuchi), a very self-contained guy and Fujimoto (Masanobu Ando), an otaku obsessed by an anime called "Space Travelers". Their plan is very simple, enter the bank during closing time, take the money and leave within 5 minutes, then board a plane to paradise. Unfortunately for them, their plan did not go as planned since the bank manager and security guard decided to lock themselves in the bank vault that won't open until the next day instead of giving them the money. Not able to reach the money and surrounded by cops, they are stuck in the bank. They then decide to use the remaining customers and staff as hostages to gather some time to plan an escape, but they soon realize that an escape is almost impossible.
