G. S. Vijayan is an Indian film director who primarily works in Malayalam. Vijayan is known for his real presentation of characters. He had his debut with the Mammootty-starrer Charithram. His other films include Aanaval Mothiram and Ghoshayathra.

Vijayan's had started filming an uncompleted project titled Chodhyam which had Mohanlal and Rahman in the lead roles. It was the remake of Tamil hit Puriyaadha Pudhir. Mohanlal' s role was played by Sarathkumar in the Tamil version. After completing the Suresh Gopi-starrer Cover Story in 2000, Vijayan did not direct a film for 12 years. He made a comeback in 2012 with Bavuttiyude Namathil starring Mammootty. The film was written and produced by Ranjith.

Mammootty plays Bavutty, a chauffeur in a wealthy household. He is in fact much more than a driver; he is very much part of the family. For Sethu (played by Shankar Ramakrishnan), his employer, life is all about making money, but Bavutty is a simple man with small dreams. Kavya Madhavan plays Vanaja, Sethu's wife, while Kaniha appears as Mariam, a housemaid. Bavutty is also acting in a small scale movie called Malabar which Vanaja is producing. The suspense is revealed by CBI Officer Mohanlal.
