Gerardo Taracena (born 1970) is a Mexican film and theatre actor and dancer. He is known for his roles in Apocalypto, Man on Fire, American Family, The Mexican and Sin Nombre. He was born in Mexico City.
Gerardo Taracena studied Dramatic Art in the University Center of Theater of the National Autonomous University of Mexico.
In 1992 he acted in diverse festivals of theater and dance with the group of dance Integro of Peru, until 1996.
Career
He is known to have taken part in a diverse selection of festivals across the whole of Latin America, and has performed in more than 30 works of theatrical acts. Gerardo Taracena was also enrolled in the theatrical group, Theater Myth.
His production on film and TV has grown both in Mexico and the United States. He appeared in the Mexican film Saving Private Perez, released in 2011, with fellow Mexican actor Jaime Camil.

The film opens with a getaway driver (Mel Gibson) and a wounded accomplice dressed as clowns fleeing from American police toward the Mexican border. The driver crashes through the border fence, whereupon he is arrested by corrupt Mexican police officers Vasquez (Mario Zaragoza) and Romero (Gerardo Teracena). When they find over $2 million in the car, they incarcerate him in El Pueblito prison under false charges, keep the cash for themselves, and cremate the accomplice, who by then has died. As one of the only Americans incarcerated there, the driver becomes known as "the Gringo". El Pueblito proves surprising, operating more like a small ghetto than a prison. The Gringo quickly manages to work out the prison's criminal hierarchy and engages in petty thefts and robberies from some of the prison's less reputable businesses. One of these thefts is witnessed by an unnamed kid (Kevin Hernandez) who is living with his incarcerated mother (Dolores Heredia) and is protected by the prison's criminals. Curious, the Gringo presses him to explain why the criminals protect him, but the Kid refuses.

Willy, nicknamed El Casper, is a member of the Mara Salvatrucha gang and lives in Tapachula, Chiapas, Mexico. In 2003, burnt-out ex-CIA officer and former U.S. Marine Corps Force Reconnaissance officer John Creasy (Denzel Washington) looks for work and reunites with old friend and comrade Paul Rayburn (Christopher Walken), who runs a security firm in Mexico. The story follows Jerry Welbach (Brad Pitt) as he travels through Mexico to find a valuable antique gun, The Mexican, and smuggle it into the United States. Five years earlier, Welbach had caused a traffic accident in which he hit the car of local mobster Arnold Margolese (Gene Hackman), who was jailed for five years after the police searched his car following the crash, finding someone tied up in his trunk.
