Gilda de Abreu (born 23 September 1904, Paris, France — died 4 June 1979, Rio de Janeiro) was a French-born actress, singer, writer and film director in Brazil.
She first started appearing in theater productions in 1933, when she starred in the romantic comedy Bonequinha de Seda, produced by Ademar Gonzaga. She was one of the first women to direct films in Brazil, she first became successful with O Ébrio in 1946. According to film historian Gwendolyn Audrey Foster, Abreu was adept at both acting as well as directing and screenwriting, and wore slacks to play down her femininity and mark her authority on the set.
