Indiana Rose Evans (born 27 July 1990) is an Australian singer-songwriter and actress, best known for her roles in Home and Away as Matilda Hunter, H2O: Just Add Water as Bella Hartley, and Blue Lagoon: The Awakening as Emmaline Robinson.

Biography

Jeunesse
Depuis l'âge de cinq ans, Indiana Evans commence à s'intéresser à la musique en chantant avec sa famille et ses amis. À l'âge de sept ans, ses parents l'encouragent à prendre des cours de danse en commençant par la danse classique puis le jazz et les claquettes. En plus de la danse, elle chante, joue la comédie et joue de la batterie. Avant d'intégrer le casting de Summer Bay, elle va au lycée Newtown High School of the Performing Arts mais quitte l'établissement deux semaines plus tard pour se concentrer sur sa carrière d'actrice. Elle suit des cours par correspondance jusqu'à l'âge de 15 ans.


Carrière

En 2003, Indiana Evans lance sa carrière d'actrice en apparaissant dans la série dramatique australienne All Saints. Elle a ensuite le rôle principal dans une campagne américaine de Kool-Aid. Elle est invitée dans des séries telles que Comedy Inc., Cops L.A.C., CIB : Criminal Investigation Bureau et Girl TV. Cette même année, elle a un rôle récurrent dans la série Rivaux mais pas trop qui se termine au bout d'une seule saison et tourne dans deux court-métrage, Burden et At The Tattooist.

Peu de temps après la fin de Rivaux mais pas trop, elle obtient le rôle de Matilda Hunter dans le soap opéra australien Summer Bay. Son personnage est une jeune fille privilégiée qui est forcée de s'installer à Summer Bay Caravan Park. Grâce à son rôle, elle est nominée aux Logie Awards et aux Inside Soap Awards . En avril 2008, les producteurs lui proposent de renouveler son contrat ce qu'elle refuse et elle annonce qu'elle quitte la série. Son personnage est apparue pour la dernière fois le 24 juillet 2008.

En 2009, Indiana Evans joue dans le téléfilm A Model Daughter: The Killing of Caroline Byrne. Cette même année, elle obtient un rôle dans la série H2O pour remplacer l'actrice Claire Holt qui a quitté la série dans l'épisode final de la saison 2. Elle incarne Isabella Hartley, la nouvelle qui débarque en ville et qui s'avère être une sirène elle aussi ; elle rejoint donc le groupe de Rikki et Cléo. Son personnage est aussi une chanteuse et elle chante aussi toute la B.O. de la troisième saison de la série, incluant le générique de cette saison, No Ordinary Girl. L'album sort en mars 2011 et la série n'a pas été renouvelée pour une quatrième saison.

En août 2010, elle joue dans le film catastrophe canado-australien Menace de glace. En novembre, elle a un rôle récurrent dans Crownies, une série policière dans laquelle elle joue Tatum Novak, la fille d'un célèbre gangster. La série est tournée à Sydney et la première saison est diffusée du 14 juillet 2011 au 1er décembre 2011.

Elle joue le personnage principal dans le téléfilm américain Les Naufragés du lagon bleu qui est diffusé le 16 juin 2012 sur la chaîne Lifetime et le 28 février 2013 sur TF1.

En février 2014 elle rejoint le casting de la version américaine de Secrets and Lies où elle interprète Natalie Crawford.

Emma and Dean are two high school students on a class trip to Trinidad to build a school for children and explore the island. The two have little in common. The pair drifts in a dinghy to a deserted island, and their parents desperately search for them. Wondering if they will ever be rescued, Emma and Dean must rely on each other to survive. Emma attends the prom, and Dean eventually decides to go as well after being persuaded by his father. Emma and Dean kiss passionately there and dance.

In Atlanta, Georgia, Cyrus DeBarge is a musically talented choir director who writes rap lyrics under the pseudonym "Truth" because of his father Pastor Jacob's disapproval of hip hop music and his shy demeanor compared to his more outgoing best friend Kris McDuffy. Cyrus also secretly works as a busboy at a club, Off the Street, where the music label of their childhood friend, teenage singing sensation Roxanne "Roxie" Andrews, is sponsoring a songwriting contest. Roxie chooses Truth's heartfelt song "Don't Run Away" as the winning entry but misidentifies Kris as Truth because the photo Cyrus submitted was of them both. Kris convinces Cyrus to let him take credit for the song because he has feelings for Roxie. As Kris uses Cyrus' verses to get closer to both Roxie's heart and his newfound fame, Cyrus begins to resent his best friend.

William (Kane O'Keefe) is a Sydney private school student who is completing his final HSC English exam. He is dating Lara Boyd-Cutler (Indiana Evans), but she feels that he pushes her on to doing things she doesn't want to and wants to go home. William is getting consumed by his own world after Lara gives him a break. In the meantime, he finds out that she is having an affair (although it is possible it is not completely consensual) with her stepfather, who is also his teacher (Jon Sivewright). All of these things drive him to a breaking point as he's deeply in love with her. When he confronts her about her relationship with her stepfather, she begins to leave, not wanting to discuss it. However, he grabs her and begins to get aggressive with her to prevent her from leaving causing her to panic and fight against him. During the struggle, he ends up killing her. In the end, when he confesses to his crime, he is sentenced to prison.
