Jean-Baptiste Andrea grew up in Cannes, France. He started making short films, and later moved to Paris. He graduated from the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris and the ESCP, but funded most of his projects by translating books. In Paris, he met Fabrice Canepa, and the two of them began writing films together. Together, they wrote and directed Dead End.

Ancien flic sans le sou et vivotant depuis qu'il a perdu sa femme dans un accident de voiture, Gabriel se fait engager par une mystérieuse organisation par l'intermédiaire d'un de ses anciens indics. Installé dans un bureau presque aussi vide que l'immeuble l'hébergeant, il se voit confier le transport international de mallettes avec une seule recommandation, ne jamais les ouvrir. Grassement payé, sans jamais voir ses interlocuteurs, il peut améliorer son quotidien et celui de sa fille, jeune étudiante trompettiste, mais son travail effrite leur relation. Rien ne va plus le jour où une des valises est volée avec mort d'homme. Gabriel tente de cesser ce travail mais il est forcé de mener l'enquête et cherche à retrouver ses commanditaires avec l'aide de Claire, archiviste à la Police.

On his way to Christmas dinner at his mother-in-law's, Frank Harrington (Ray Wise), driving on an unknown road with his family, falls asleep and almost crashes into another car going in the other direction. Miraculously nobody is hurt and the other car is nowhere to be seen. Back on the road, Frank sees a woman in white (Amber Smith) with a baby in the surrounding woods. He drives back and finds no one there. However, while he is looking, the Woman in White appears at his window. He asks her if she is fine as it is apparent that she is in shock and wounded on her forehead. He asks Brad (Billy Asher) to check if he can use his mobile phone to call 911 but there is no signal on the network. Frank invites the woman to have a ride in their car because on the way they spotted a cabin not far away. Marion (Alexandra Holden) decides to give her seat to the woman and walk to the cabin as she is suffering from traveling sickness.

The film begins with Sid Soupir admiring the girl of his dreams, Angie. His friend, Pierre (also called Tiger), encourages him to talk to her. Sid agrees but decides to impress Angie with his skateboarding moves first. At first he succeeds in getting Angie's attention, but then he crashes into a vegetable cart. Angie's two friends, Margot and Clemence, laugh while Angie pulls Sid to his feet. Sid offers to make plans with Angie as Angie's sort-of boyfriend, Virgile, and his friends watch from a distance. Angie agrees and offers to get Sid's cellphone number but Sid replies he does not have a cellphone at all. Tiger butts in, making up a lie that Sid had to cancel his cellphone plan because a crazy Russian ex-girlfriend was stalking him. Unimpressed, Angie's friends lead her away.
