Kathleen B. Burke (September 5, 1913 — April 9, 1980) was an American movie actress of the 1930s.

Burke worked as a dental assistant in Chicago, before winning a talent contest sponsored by Paramount Pictures to play Lota the "Panther Woman" in Island of Lost Souls (released December 1932), the first screen version of H.G. Wells's novel The Island of Dr. Moreau. The contest, announced in July 1932, allegedly had 60,000 applicants from around the country. Burke was announced as the winner on September 29.

This success led to more than a score of screen appearances over the following six years, most notably as the leading lady in The Lives of a Bengal Lancer (1935) opposite Gary Cooper, and The Last Outpost with Cary Grant that same year. Her final film role was in 1938, whereupon she retired from screen acting at the age of 25.

On the northwest frontier of India during the British Raj, Scottish Canadian Lieutenant Alan McGregor (Gary Cooper), in charge of newcomers, welcomes two replacements to the 41st Bengal Lancers, Lieutenant Forsythe (Franchot Tone) and Lieutenant Donald Stone (Richard Cromwell), the son of the unit's commander, Colonel Tom Stone (Guy Standing). Lieutenant Stone has volunteered to serve on the Indian front solely in the belief that his father specifically sent for him, while Lieutenant Forsythe, an experienced cavalrymen, is simply sent off as a replacement for an officer who recently died. After the formal introduction, Lieutenant Stone realizes his father never actually sent for him, a discovery that breaks his heart. In attempt to show impartiality, the colonel treats his son very coldly, which is misinterpreted and causes even more frustration and resentment in the young man.

Mining engineer Larry Sutton (Randolph Scott) arrives at the Ballard radium mine to take over as chief engineer from his missing brother-in-law Jack Parson, who is a suspect in the murder of ranch caretaker Adolph Borg. Au Kurdistan, lors de la Première Guerre mondiale, Michael Andrews, un officier britannique, est sauvé par John Stevenson, un agent des services secrets. Le film met en scène trois couples qui vont se croiser contre leur gré et dont les rencontres vont provoquer une série de catastrophes et de quiproquos. Le premier couple est formé des époux Whinney, la quarantaine, lui employé de banque, qui désire prendre 15 jours de vacances. Madame Whinney afin d'économiser sur le prix du voyage propose de prendre un autre couple en co-voiturage mais sans le dire à son mari. Le couple en question, Georges et Gracie est atypique, non marié, jeune, la fille simplette et extravagante, l'homme ronchon, et pour couronner le tout, ils sont accompagnés d'un énorme chien qui n'aime pas trop qu'on le contrarie. Fergusson, un collègue de Whinney trouve un stratagème afin que ce dernier emporte dans sa valise de l'argent qu'il a dérobé dans le coffre de la banque. Mais les excentricités de Gracie font que nos deux couples de vacanciers ont fait un détour improbable et ne se trouve pas à l’hôtel où ils devaient descendre et où le collègue devait récupérer les fonds. Finalement les deux couples après s'être fait détrousser de leur argent (mais pas de celui de la valise) et leurs bijoux par des bandits de grand chemins arrivent pour la nuit dans une petite ville de l’Ouest où nous découvrons le troisième couple, il s’agit du Shérif John Hoxley (W. C. Fields) et de son épouse qui gère l’hôtel. Sur place, Whinney télégraphie à la banque afin qu'on lui débloque des fonds pour payer leur nuit d'hôtel. La police qui le soupçonnait peut ainsi le localiser, mais également Fergusson. Après une série de quiproquos à répétition, Fergusson sera arrêté, Whinney blanchi, quant à Georges et Gracie ils retrouveront un autre couple de pigeons pour continuer leur route.

Big-game hunter and wealthy zoologist Eric Gorman (Lionel Atwill) is an insanely jealous husband who uses his animal knowledge to dispose of his impulsive wife’s lovers. The film opens in an Indian jungle with Gorman using a needle and thread to sew a colleague’s mouth closed after having discovered that he had kissed his wife, and then he seals the man’s fate by abandoning him in the jungle with the wild beasts. Gorman later pretends to be surprised at hearing that the man had been eaten by tigers. Both Gorman and his wife Evelyn (Kathleen Burke) then return to America aboard a ship packed with captured animals he intends to add to his collection at a major zoo. On the ship, Evelyn starts to develop promiscuous relations with Roger Hewitt (John Lodge), which she makes little effort to hide from her husband. Naturally, the murderously jealous Gorman takes notice. So once back in the States, he begins to plot a way to get rid of Hewitt.
