Katy Murphy is a Scottish actress who has appeared in Takin' Over the Asylum, Mike and Angelo, Spatz, B&B, The Steamie, The River, Casualty, Agatha Christie's Poirot, Your Cheatin' Heart, and perhaps most memorably Tutti Frutti. She played the part of Jenny Wren in three of four episodes of Charles Dickens's Our Mutual Friend (1998 TV serial). She played the part of Janet in the Radio 4 series Adventures of a Black Bag, and was in the TV drama Prime Suspect in 2006. She also appeared in the 2008 drama series Honest as Caitlin, the ex-con Scottish wound up garden centre employee.

When three-year-old Saville Kent is found murdered in dreadful circumstances at the family home in Wiltshire, Commissioner Mayne (Tim Pigott-Smith) sends Scotland Yard detective Inspector Jack Whicher (Paddy Considine) to investigate the crime. Local Superintendent Foley (Tom Georgeson) believes that the murder is an 'inside job', committed by Saville's nurse Elizabeth Gough (Kate O'Flynn), whom he suspects the child had seen in bed with a man, possibly the child's father, Samuel Kent (Peter Capaldi) but whom he is forced to release due to lack of evidence.

Two brothers, David and Peter (Andy Serkis and Reece Shearsmith), kidnap Tracey (Jennifer Ellison), the stepdaughter of Arnie (Steven Berkoff), an underworld crime boss. After a heated conversation at the kitchen table, Peter and David retrieve the unconscious Tracey from the car trunk. As they try to get her upstairs Peter gets sidetracked by her chest not realizing that she has woken up. She headbutts him several times and Peter screams with pain. David manages to get her off him and has to fix Peter's now bloody and broken nose after tying her to the bed frame. The pair hold her for ransom in a secluded country cottage. Things begin to go wrong when Arnie's dimwitted son and stepbrother of Tracey, Andrew (Steve O'Donnell) delivers the ransom. Instead of money, the bag is filled with napkins. David and Peter realize that not only have they been deceived, but Arnie knew about Andrew's involvement in the scheme all along.
