Boyle was in a two-year relationship with Twin Peaks partner Kyle MacLachlan. She also dated comedian David Spade.Then Boyle dated Jack Nicholson. They went public with their romance at the 1999 Emmys, and remained together until the end of 2000.

Miriam et Danny sont enfermés dans un sous-sol. Sunday et Parker rendent visite à Jovunet et le persuadent de les aider. Il accepte de jouer leur jeu : ils vont faire semblant d'accepter les conditions du ravisseur pour gagner du temps. Ben and Cass get "married" while staying at someone's farm. Their journey eventually takes them to Cass' aunt and uncle, where Cass suffers a nervous breakdown and gets taken to a psychiatric ward. Ben breaks into the place at night, and Cass reveals to him that she caused the car accident that killed her parents because she was being abused by her father. Ben convinces her to leave with him, and the couple spends the rest of their lives together.

The peaceful and happy life of Walker and Col Kennedy is interrupted when Kim, a brilliant and attractive male architect, builds a dream house next to theirs. All the people who move into the house turn evil or end up having "accidents" and unexplainable deaths. They realize that the house targets their fears and feeds off of them until it drives them insane. In the end, the Kennedys succeed in destroying the house, killing the architect in the process. In the final scene another couple is seen eyeing a new house identical to the old one. This is the greatest departure from the novel, in which the Kennedys kill the architect before trying to destroy the house – in the epilogue it is revealed that they themselves lost their lives and the house is still intact.

Trish Maplewood, the eldest Jordan sister, is an upper middle class housewife happily married to psychiatrist Bill Maplewood and has three children. After Johnny is taken to the hospital and found to have been sexually abused, the police arrive at the Maplewood residence to question Bill. After alerting his wife to the police presence, Bill begins by asking the two detectives, "You said something about Ronald Farber?" The two detectives, looking puzzled, say nothing. Bill then stammers, "I mean, Johnny Grasso." Out on bail, he tearfully admits to Billy that he "fucked" the boys, that he enjoyed it, and that he would do it again. When Billy asks, "Would you ever fuck me?", his father replies, "No... I jerk off instead.
