In Santo Domingo the experienced seaman Jacques Cournot is asked for advice by a certain Mr Hendrix who wishes to purchase a sailing boat. Cournot recommends to buy the ship in question. Subsequently Mr Hendrix negotiates the price with Mrs Osborne, the owner of the "Dragoon".
