Amanda Rose Moseley (born December 20, 1993) better known by her stage name Mandy Rain, is an American recording artist, dancer, and actress. Rain started her acting career at a young age. In 2007, Rain auditioned for "Star Camp" a Nickelodeon television show that focuses on the making of a super star musical group. Rain was chosen along with seven other kids to join the show and "The Giggle Club." The band disbanded shortly after the series' finale. Shortly afterwards, The Giggle Club's producer Nick Cannon decided to groom Rain for a solo career. Cannon started bringing Rain to recording studios to record songs while he was drafting a show for her called "The Diaries of Mandy Rain." After hearing one of the tracks Rain had recorded, Canon got inspired by it and decided to start drafting a different show about three private school girls. After several months, Canon formed "School Gyrls." The original line up featured Rain, Monica Parales, and Jacque Pyles. In the summer of 2009, School Gyrls starred in a movie Canon had written called "School Gyrls" which premiered on Nickelodeon on February 21, 2010. Shortly afterwards, they released a self-titled album "School Gyrls." Later that year, they also released a holiday album titled "A Very School Gyrls Holla-Day." Rain and Pyles left the group shortly after the release of the holiday album to focus on their solo careers.
A year after the disbandment of the School Gyrls, Rain released her debut single "Boogie". Biography
Born as Amanda Moseley in Hollywood, Florida, she is the daughter of actor/comedian Mark Moseley, and sister of actor/singer/dancer Matt Moseley.
Amanda started her career at an early age. At 13, she was cast from a group of 3000 hopefuls to star in a Nick Cannon-produced television show for Nickelodeon, "The Giggle Club", about a pop/hip hop group of 10 talented young people that included, among other names, Adam G. Sevani (now well known for starring in the "Step Up" movies). It was during the filming of "The Giggle Club" that Amanda was given her stage name by Cannon, who determined that she should be nicknamed "Mandy Rain". While filming the show, Rain's singing/dancing talent and energy caught the eye of Cannon, who, after the Giggle Club project ended, decided to groom Rain for a solo career. He brought her to record producers to record solo tracks, while he drafted a sitcom concept, "The Diaries of Mandy Rain", to pitch Mandy to Nickelodeon and Disney.
When Cannon heard a song Rain recorded called "Detention", he instead pursued the idea of creating a TV show about three private school girls who meet in detention (the solo song Mandy had recorded appeared "as is" in the resulting "School Gyrls" movie). Cannon created the girl group "Schol Gyrls" and brought in Monica Parales and Jacque Pyles (Jasmine Villegas was briefly the original third member, but left to focus on a solo career). Rain made an album/soundtrack with the group, and a movie titled "School Gyrls", which was filmed in the summer of 2009. Cannon convinced his friend L.A. Reid at Island Def Jam to allow an (at the time) up-and-coming young artist to make a cameo in the "School Gyrls" movie. By the time the movie aired on Nickelodeon more than six months later, the young man, Justin Bieber had exploded as an international star, ensuring dramatic ratings for the introduction of the "School Gyrls". The group followed up the following year with a holiday album and movie titled "A Very School Gyrls Holla-Day". After the holiday movie in January 2011, when Cannon began planning for the School Gyrls to become an MTV-type reality series, Rain announced she would opt to leave, to pursue a solo career. In October 2011, Mandy released her first solo single, "Boogie", and the video (directed by Fernando Cordero) was released in March 2012.
In 2012, Rain began working with manager and producer Shawn Campbell, who discovered and developed Cody Simpson, on an updated musical and marketing direction. She is unsigned but managed Shawn Campbell and Darrien Henning.

Rain's first big hit was with the School Gyrls "Something Like A Party" in 2010 which generated buzz and charted on the Billboard Hot Dance/Club Play chart at #5 for 13 weeks in a row. In 2012, Rain began working with Shawn Campbell, who discovered and developed Cody Simpson, on an updated musical and image direction.
