Marshall Colt (born October 26) is a management consultant, combat-decorated veteran and former Captain in the United States Navy in San Diego, California, who was an actor in film and television from 1976 to 1995.
He co-starred in the films Jagged Edge and North Dallas Forty, as well as the James Arness crime series McClain's Law, which aired on NBC in the 1981-1982 season.

After the sudden death of their father, four children — teenagers Chris and Cathy and 5-year-old twins Cory and Carrie — find themselves penniless and forced to travel with their mother Corinne to live with her wealthy parents (whom the children had neither met nor been told about before). Corinne informs her children that there has been tension between herself and her parents for many years, but does not elaborate and simply says they had cut her out of their lives for something she had done of which they disapproved. An intruder in a black mask and clothing ties up San Francisco socialite Page Forrester at her remote beach house and kills her with a hunting knife with a jagged edge. He writes the word "Bitch" on the wall with her blood. Her husband Jack (Bridges) later recovers in a clinic with a bloody head wound, claiming to have been knocked unconscious and awoken to find Page's body. After her funeral, he is arrested for her murder by DA Thomas Krasny, based on evidence that includes a witness at a club who saw a hunting knife in Jack's locker; medical suggestion that Jack's head wound was self-inflicted; Jack's fingerprints being at the crime scene with Page's; and Jack inheriting all of Page's corporate and personal assets in the event of her death. Forrester tries to hire high-profile lawyer Teddy Barnes to defend him after hearing of her high success rate. Barnes, however, used to work for Krasny, and is reluctant to take the case as she stopped working in criminal law after an incident with him.
