Maureen E. "Mo" Gaffney (born November 5, 1958) is an American actress, comedian, writer and activist.

Biography

She hosted two of her own television talk shows: Women Aloud! (which was shown on the Comedy Central network) and The Mo Show. She and friend Kathy Najimy wrote and starred in two off-Broadway shows, The Kathy and Mo Show: Parallel Lives and The Kathy and Mo Show: The Dark Side, both of which won Obie Awards. She also appeared in Seasons 4 and 5 of That '70s Show as Joanne Stupak, Bob Pinciotti's girlfriend, had a recurring role in Mad About You and guest starred in Friends. In addition, she appeared in the black comedy about beauty pageants, Drop Dead Gorgeous.

Gaffney appeared on the British television talk show "The Full Wax" starring Ruby Wax, in which she portrayed American correspondent "Taffy Turner", in the recurring segment "Taffy Turner: Inside America".

Gaffney went on to team up with Jennifer Saunders with a recurring role as Bo in the sitcom Absolutely Fabulous; in 2004, talks of a spin-off show began but nothing surfaced. She is co-host of the "Women Aloud" radio program on Greenstone Media.

Frank Murdoch (Joel Murray) is a middle-aged insurance salesman living in Syracuse, New York, who is sick with how the United States has fallen into a state of rudeness based on pop culture, talk radio, television, and internet influences. In 1995, Mount Rose is preparing for its annual beauty pageant. Henry and Nancy Clark are a couple living in a quiet Ohio town. Married for 27 years, their last child has left home and Nancy is suffering from empty nest syndrome. Unbeknownst to her, Henry has lost his job due to corporate downsizing and has an interview in New York. Nancy sneaks on the plane with him and they begin a disastrous series of misadventures. Their plane is rerouted to Boston, their luggage is lost, they are mugged at gunpoint and their daughter has used their credit card to the point where it has reached its limit. They are thrown out of their hotel by a pompous manager (John Cleese) who also indulges in cross dressing. Forced to live by their wits on the street, the couple find themselves caught up in a robbery, chased by the police through Central Park and also finding renewed love between them. In the end, Henry aces his job interview and the two begin a new life together in "The Big Apple".
