Molly Driscoll Hawkey (born August 28, 1978) is an American actress, producer, photographer, and comedian. She is known for her roles as Lacey Wilcox in the 2007 horror comedy Brain Blockers, and Molly in the 2011 drama film Higher Ground, the latter of which was directed by her sister-in-law Vera Farmiga. In 2012, she voiced the character of Orro Oxslayer in the fantasy video game Guild Wars 2, and guest starred in an episode of AMC's Mad Men.

Biography

Hawkey has resided in Los Angeles, California since 2003. Through her brother Renn's marriage, she is the sister-in-law of Academy Award-nominated actress Vera Farmiga, who is also the sister of actress Taissa Farmiga. Hawkey is a member of the Los Angeles-based basketball team the Pistol Shrimps, alongside actresses Aubrey Plaza and Angela Trimbur. She plays in the position of power forward.

1961–72 Corinne Walker is a young girl who is skeptical about God. After the stillbirth of her brother, her parent's marriage disintegrates over the course of several years. As a teenager (Taissa Farmiga), she meets Ethan (Boyd Holbrook), a budding musician in local rock band The Renegades. They get married after Corinne becomes pregnant, and have their daughter Abigail. While touring with Ethan's band, their bus crashes into a river. Ethan rushes to save Abby, and Corinne pleads with God to save her. Abby is pulled out of the bus before it sinks into the water, and Ethan believes that God wanted them to live. Ethan and Corinne grow more and more interested in Jesus, eventually giving themselves over to a radical New Testament church.

A college professor, Dr. Douglas Newton, develops an experimental drug named Tryptophan (not to be confused with real Tryptophan) that has the side effect of turning his students into bloodthirsty zombie-like creatures, leading them to eventually explode. It is up to a couple of grad students, Jenny Wayne and Joe Larsen, along with the local newspaper reporter Ray Elsworth, to uncover Dr. Newton's dark secret and thwart his plans before time runs out.
