Peter Scarf (born 11 February 1980) is an Australian actor, writer, film director and entrepreneur. Scarf starred as Liam Tanner on Australian television show Home and Away, before producing a number of feature films including Fortune, which he co-wrote and directed with Ahmad Diba. In addition to Fortune, Scarf has produced Two Door Mansion and Right Here Right Now. Scarf currently appears as Senior Constable Andrew in Channel Nine's Underbelly: The Golden Mile. Peter Scarf is co-founder of Matilda Media and subsidiaries Matilda Books, Newzulu, 3DVRX and Rightstrade. Scarf is co-founder of the Digital Museum of Australia. Recently, Scarf is an Executive Producer on the feature film The Silent Storm, starting Damian Lewis (Band of Brothers, Homeland) and Andrea Risebrough (Oblivion, W. Biography
Scarf was born in Sydney to a Greek mother and Lebanese father. He is the youngest of three children (an older brother and sister). During his last few years of high school he was working full-time as an actor on Australian television. In the year 2000, he graduated from the University of New South Wales in Media and Communications majoring in English and film production. Scarf has been involved in both the creative and financial side of a number of feature films both in Australia and the United States but now focuses his efforts specifically on writing and directing.
Acting
Scarf acted in school plays and then joined the Australian Theatre for Young People. During school he began auditioning for professional roles and landed his first television appearance in Australian Broadcasting Corporation's GP series, which aired in mid-1995. Just after he had started back at school last year, he won the role of Liam Tanner on Home and Away. He left school but continued his education with the Sydney Distance School and studied the Year 12 curriculum. Scarf's first episode as Liam Tanner was episode 1910, which aired in Australia on 26 April 1996.
Scarf appeared in a number of leading Australian TV shows including, Wildside, WaterRats, All Saints, Farscape, and the Icon Production telemovie The Three Stooges. Scarf recently appeared as Senior Constable Andrew in Channel Nine's Underbelly: The Golden Mile.
