Sōji Yoshikawa (吉川惣司, Yoshikawa Sōji), est un réalisateur, animateur et scénariste d’anime japonais né le 22 février 1947.
Il rejoint le studio Mushi Production fondé par Osamu Tezuka en 1963, répondant à une annonce de recrutement alors qu’il était encore lycéen et s’amusait à créer de petits courts métrages amateurs. Il anime ou réalise plusieurs œuvres du studio ; en 2013, Tezuka Productions lui propose d’adapter un manga de Tezuka pour les cinquante ans de la série emblématique Astro, le petit robot.
En 1978, il réalise la première adaptation au grand écran de la célèbre série Lupin III, intitulée Edgar de la Cambriole : Le Secret de Mamo.

Inspector Zenigata travels to Castle Dracula to confirm reports of the execution of his long-time nemesis, Arsène Lupin III. However, the body he finds is a decoy that is being used by another Lupin to escape from the castle. Zenigata travels to Egypt, believing that Lupin will raid the Pyramids based on prior thefts of reputed immortality-granting objects. His prediction proves accurate, but Lupin and his partners Daisuke Jigen and Goemon Ishikawa XIII escape with the Philosopher's Stone. The Stone was requested by Lupin's associate and on-off lover, Fujiko Mine, who, having agreed to obtain the Stone for a mysterious client, steals it from Lupin in Paris. The benefactor reveals his name to her as Mamo, but they discover that the Stone is a fake made by Lupin.

The story is about a dying Lensman who transfers his Lens to a young man named Kimball Kinnison. To his best knowledge, Kim wasn't aware of how big the responsibility of holding the Lens is.
