Scott Macalister Bryce (born January 6, 1958), sometimes credited as Scott M. Bryce, is an American film and television actor. Bryce is perhaps best known for his portrayal of Craig Montgomery on As the World Turns.

Biography

Bryce was born in New York, New York, the son of the late daytime actor Ed Bryce, who for many years played Bill Bauer on Guiding Light. Bryce grew up in Westport, Connecticut and attended Staples High School where he was an active member of The Staples Players student theater group. He appeared at the Palace Theater on Broadway in Caesar & Cleopatra starring Rex Harrison in February 1977.

Bryce, a two-time Daytime Emmy nominee, has found many ways to keep busy. The actor opened a three-camera television studio in an old vaudeville theater in Connecticut. Bryce has also made numerous guest starring appearances in primetime, including roles on "Murphy Brown," on which he played the recurring role of Faith Ford's husband Will Forrest, "ER," "Law & Order," "Reba" and "Sex and the City." In addition, the actor appeared as Dr. Crosby in a handful of episodes of ABC's One Life to Live in March 2006.

Bryce is perhaps best known for the role of Craig Montgomery. He joined As the World Turns in 1982 and was initially paired with Meg Ryan. He continued in the role until 1987, and then made several short term-returns over the years until he departed in 1994. The show re-hired Bryce in 2007, but it was announced in January 2008 that he had been released from the role.

In 2014, Bryce played Senator Tom Wesley in the soap opera web series Beacon Hill.

Sally 'Tally' Atwater (Michelle Pfeiffer) is an ambitious, aspiring news reporter, who is hired by Miami local news director Warren Justice (Robert Redford) when she sends in a homemade audition tape. He carefully guides her career to new heights, all the while becoming increasingly attracted to her. Tally soon rises through the ranks of network news to become successful, while Warren's once-stellar career sinks into mediocrity. Furthermore, Tally's ascension takes her away from Warren when she is forced to relocate to Philadelphia. Tally struggles at her new post, in no small part due to the hostility of veteran reporter Marcia McGrath (Stockard Channing), who jealously protects her position as the top reporter. Warren turns up to inspire Tally, and the two partners begin a new career together. However, on a routine assignment in a Philadelphia prison, Tally and her cameraman are taken hostage in a prison riot and forced to endure hours of intense violence. Tally covers the groundbreaking story from within the walls of the collapsing prison as Warren looks on from outside, guiding her through her first national broadcast. L.A.P.D. Sergeants Martin Riggs (Gibson) and Roger Murtaugh (Glover) arrive at an evacuated building believed to have a bomb in it. Against orders, they go inside to investigate the bomb. Riggs decides to deactivate the bomb himself instead of waiting for the Bomb Squad to arrive. Unfortunately, he causes the bomb to detonate and the whole building to collapse. This causes them to be demoted to uniform duties, which upsets Murtaugh because he only has seven days until retirement. While on street patrol, the two thwart a robbery using a duplicate armored car, although they only manage to catch one of the two would-be thieves. During the arrest, it is discovered the criminals were armed with a new type of armor-piercing bullet, informally referred to as "cop killers". For their efforts in stopping the raid, Riggs and Murtaugh are reinstated as Detective Sergeants by their superior, Captain Murphy (Kahan). Murphy introduces internal affairs Sergeant Lorna Cole (Russo) to the two detectives and informs them that the suspect they have in custody from the raid is a known associate of former L.A.P.D. Lieutenant and suspected arms dealer: Jack Travis (Wilson).
