Bernard Francis "Skip" O'Brien (August 20, 1950 – April 6, 2011) was an American actor. Although he appeared in such films as 1997's Liar Liar and 2007's The Hitcher, he is perhaps best known for his recurring role as Detective Ray O'Riley from 2000–2003 on the American television show CSI.

O'Brien was born in Jersey City, New Jersey and grew up on the Jersey Shore in Union Beach. After serving in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War he graduated from Brookdale Community College in 1980. O'Brien spent his career in television and film living in California then moved to Hazlet, New Jersey in 2010. He died on April 6, 2011, at the age of 60.

In Los Angeles, career-focused lawyer Fletcher Reede (Carrey) loves his son Max (Cooper), but his inability to keep his promises and compulsive lying in lieu of his career often causes problems between them and with his ex-wife Audrey (Tierney), who has become involved with another man named Jerry. Monroe Clark moves to California to pursue a law career. At the airport he meets Wiley Hunter who offers him a drive to Monroe's uncle Max's house and it is not long before they become friends. Monroe then meets his Uncle Max to discuss how Monroe will earn money for law school. Max assigns Monroe the job of handing homeowners a "pay or quit" notice to either to vacate the premises or pay past rent due and to be back by 6 o'clock. Monroe handles some of the evictions until he meets Zack Barnes's "companion" after they engaged in sexual activities. Monroe meets Zack unknowingly after he tricks him that Zack is heading for the lifeguard station, only to lead him to his gambling agent who throws Monroe's suitcase into the ocean. Monroe then meets Samantha, who was the one who recovered his suitcase from the ocean. While Monroe is in California's beaches, he runs into Wiley, who shows Monroe the joys of living a carefree lifestyle and the popularity of volleyball. Wiley asks a nearby volleyball team consisted of Moothart and O'Bradovich to challenge the duo to a quick volleyball game.
